Having really enjoyed "off-road " courses in recent years... my friends and I are looking to try some track tuition.

Does anyone have any comments on this offering?:

Just £299 including loan leathers ( useful when you only have a twat suit !) Can it be any good for that sum?

Personally never been on a TD, but heard really good things about Ron H race school and it's a great circuit.

If you need b & b there used to be a really good one opposite the pub at the far end of Swarkestone Bridge, only a few miles from the circuit.

The pub is the Crewe and Harpur and the B & B Bridge Farm, it's a few years since I used them but they were both good.

I last did it in 2007 and was lucky enough to have Rob Mawbey as my instructor. All very beneficial and every day is a school day.

Brilliant experiance.
Done this with a mate a few years ago. One instructor to two pupils........ You need to forget about road riding do's and don't s.
My legs ached for a couple of days after, due to hanging off the bike so much.

It's also embarrassing when you think your on the limit, and Ron Haslam goes round the outside of you down Craner's with a passenger hanging on for dear life.

Yep, did it last year, was great fun. You feel a lot safer as the track is managed more actively and the groups are two riders to one instructor.

Scared myself silly on a couple of corners :D . It's also the full international circuit (so with the hairpin).

RBW.

Thanks for the replies ...very much appreciated , and the B/B links too,,,...Booking up for April 13 , three GSriders and a quick ? S1000R owner...Excited already

Good choice - I did the 600 with my son in 08, then went back in 09 for 1-1 - top marks for the pro experience with Matt llewelin (?) ex BSB etc - as I told him then, I know roughly how to stop and go, but the experience of pushing myself to get round the corners and his encouragement at the debrief easily justified itself to me. Of course there was someone else to justify it to when the credit card statement arrived..........

I did the Chris Walker race school at Mallory Park.

My instructor was none other than Peter Hinkman!!

It was a cracking day!

Done both.
I had Dave Johnston.
Chrris Walker school was (I think) only the second one he did - the Thursday after he'd just one a BSB race (quite emotional!)
One of the the Punters took out both Lee Johnson and the other trainee!!
And the Maxxis were shite on a danp track!
Brand new ZX6's were on the money tho'!

Mick Wilcox was my instructor at RHRS in 2000. British 125 champion. Quicker than me and he was on a CB500 twin while I was on a CBR 600. I quickly realised I wasn't cut out to be a racer. It was good to ride Donington and have small insight as to what it was like but I didn't learn much, was too worried about binning their bike and, to be honest, I'm just too fucking slow. Hey ho, can't be good at everything.
