Hi lads,
Any of you lads got a roof helmet ?
Looking at the Boxxer 2

Cheers Doc

Hello Doc,

Don’t have it anymore, but had a Boxer 20 years ago, it was a bit noisy and visor change was a faff with screws on the side pods.
mine had a fixed chin bar, but had an ACU Gold Sticker . I’d wear Roof again……..

No I haven’t. I remember in middle school 00’s seeing allot of scooter riders wearing them around London. I recall Chap In the cap recently saying they never been all that good.

How about you try Shark OXO. In live it is going to be a better lid too.

Sportbikeshop have them on sale at the moment. Screenshot your basket contents and send it to Motolegends via email for a price beat plus another -10% of the total cost and a free shipping.

I’ve got a V8 Boxer, had it years.
All day comfortable but quite deep on top and gives you the ‘mushroom head’ look….
Very noisy (I always wear earplugs anyway) and the visor is made of a special material that seems to let rain through even when closed. This combined with a tendency to steam up quickly makes it fecking dangerous when riding in the wet especially in the dark as I can’t see a thing.
Look cool though…..

Ok thanks.

I had one, as the others said, noisy, the flip was a faff (I think they’ve changed it now) and the shell was massive. The visor was so curved it was hard to see through.

Chucked it away.

No, but thanks for asking.

Many years ago, I tried one one one found it the wrong shape for me, I tend towards Arai and Shoei out of preference on the occasions I look for a new lid. At the time there was a particular Roof helmet to 'have' a bit like the Simpson helmet.

Try it on if you can before you commit.

Yep, great for the summer. any rain and i mean any and it steams up and water runs down the inside of the visor. look cool but i'd look elsewhere.

i have gone for an hjc i30 in Matt black (pisspot with full depth visor).

Barry

By the reply I'll stick with my piss pot & shades.

They're not designed in any way for practicality, they are purely designed for their looks. We've sold them for years, have sold quite a lot and don't get any warranty issues but I'd suggest they're a secondary helmet for most people who ride a harley or something more urban and want to look cool.

I had the MK1 version and it was an instrument of torture. It was just never comfortable and when you dropped the chin bar it was too close to your face like literally rubbing your nose and chin. Maybe I’ve just got a big head with big protrusions who knows🤷‍♂️ As others have said best try one on first if you get the chance before committing.
