I'm just getting ready to go on my summer trip to Europe and I have put my 12 daily routes onto the Garmin. They were preplanned on my PC using Mapsource . So have two questions:
1 Who is the maximum number of maps able to be stored , is it 12 or is it a data capacity that stops the satnav from holding more.
2 i'm having difficulty in accessing maps from my SDcard , is it possible to do it or am expecting too much
Thanks in advance Byron

in mapsource you highlight the routes you want (can highlight all 12) then click on send to device (NOT SD CARD), routes will appear in custom routes, waypoints will show in favourites, hope this helps.

Thanks I'm aware of that I just want to know is it possible to access from the SD card therefore increase the number of stored routes

In tools, my data , import data, your routes should be there. I just deleted 11 routes from my trip and they must still be on the sd card as when i take those options above it brings them all up for selection.

you can store up to 20 routes on the unit as long as they dont have more than 1000 waypoints between them, and you can use your sd card to store more.

I have all my routes on the SD card. As stated above import up to 20 routes on your device. When you want to import route 21 from your card just delete 1 from the device. The deleted route will still be on the SD card for future use.

When I tour and have say 12 routes, I save the routes (not import them) as one gpx file on the sd card in a folder called /gpx.
Every evening I delete that days route then import the next days route all within the zumo itself.
The advantage is that I only have one current route in the main gps and I can re-import any route; even during the day if one gets messed up.

Thanks for all that guys I will now delete all the routes I have stored and try to update via the sd card
