The only advice I can offer is do not stay in Roscoff.

Not that it isn't a lovely Breton port where you can eat some of the best sea-food you'll ever be served, just that it is incredibly expensive.

Even the scruffy Ibis will charge you at least three times the going rate.

If you can get an overnight Plymouth to Roscoff, go for it. The problem with Roscoff is that it will take you about an hours travelling to get to anywhere reasonably priced and where you might want to be.

You'd be better off sailing overnight and getting most of France behind you by the first overnight stop.

Edit: Just noticed your intended first stop!

La Rochelle is primarily a yachtie haven these days. As such it is pretty damn expensive too!

Better to aim for Bordeaux or further south.

Bordeaux is easily in reach, even allowing for a scenic route.

The Holiday Inn is central, has secure underground parking, reasonable prices and is fine for a one-night stop, eat and run.

If you ever get stuck for a hotel when traveling in France the Etap range of budget hotels are OK, I paid as little as €30 for a night in one, it was clean no fuss with secure parking, not bad if your on a "budget" trip to France.

CHEVAL BLANC

We stayed one night in Cheval Blanc, very good welcome, spotlessly clean, secure parking under cover, ideal location 5 mins from the ferry, came off the boat at seven o clock in the local bar at 7.45,highly reccomended :thumb2:thumb2
