Over here!
Puzzled by how to fix these- idle is slightly rough. Vibrations at tickover feel rougher than normal and bike seemed to switch between 1100 and 1200 idel speed - needle going up and down constantly at idle. Happened when bike warm more than just after start. Saw thread re TPS on similar issue.

But, also lookedd at intakes and left side was slightly wet with oil underneath - smelled of engine oil. Have posted photo, although it doesn't show much. I know breather looks like it has more oil on it, but that's probably from me touching it! it was pretty much dry with dirt/tiny amount oil on it.

Any ideas as to fix for two issues and whether they are related? thanks

Try the usual suspect... the main coil sticks.

Test by disconnecting the plugs from the two lower secondary coil sticks on both sides and see how the engine runs (or not) on just the main stick coils.

Idle was fine yesterday, so will try this next time symptoms return

My '08 GSA weeps oil slightly from the LH cylinder base gasket and front timing cover. It stops the bolts from rusting if nothing else, and wipes off easily. BMW offered to fix it (for a fee obviously) at the last recall campaign for fuel connectors. I declined their offer.

Mine has a new type (black) fuel pump controller. Its now started cutting out at random. Well done BuMW with your, oh so reliable, electrics. At least its not leaking oil as well.

BTW have you checked if the sump is over filled?

I always fill to leave a small but visible gap at top of sight glass so don't think it is overfilled.

Had a slight smell of oil yesterday when got home. Haven't investigated. Was just checking seal on throttle bodies given rough idle when I noticed. Will check breather hose over weekend and clean up around it so I can try to see where coming from

When I overfilled mine (clear oil wasn't obvious in the overfilled sight glass) the engine quickly burnt off the excess. It settles to about 50% in the sight glass and stays there until the next oil change.

Thanks. Over 1/2 of sight glass is over-filled?

Fixed. Total cost £2.50. Rough running - 2 tanks of REDEX. Leak - replaced cam chain sprocket cover o-ring and used some Hylomar to seal cover to cylinder. Only purchase was the o-ring from BMW.

Re oil level comment above, it doesn't make sense to me I'm afraid.
