Round Ireland Trip Report with photos Feb 07

Great post and pics David. Makes me feel like taking a couple of days off work and repeating it (apart from the tent bit - I'll have a real bed and a shower thank you very much).

:aidan

My mate got one of those cruisecontrol that's just a clip on the throttle that rests on your palm - he swears by it. Maybe it's time to get a more comfortable set of gloves.

Lucky you. I'm sure you enjoyed yourself. Obviously, from the state of your hand, the beach was swinger free ;) :D :D

Really enjoyed the report. and the photo's :thumb2 You covered some lovely ground. :)

Re the blisters sore shoulders and arse. Shuffle about a bit every few miles from the start of the journey and you won't have a problem......don't wait until it gets sore. Re the shoulders and arms relax and again move them around shrug your shoulders and turn your head side to side every now and again.....again before you notice any discomfort. Don't hold on to the bars tightly and you won't get blisters take the chance on the overrun to rest your grip...and or make sure your gloves are comfy and ruc and ridge free.:D

just fixed the img tags and spaced the pics so they didn't make the page so wide:D

Thanks Gary - Lynda already grumbled at having to scroll across.
Glad you all enjoyed the write up - makes freezing in a tent all worthwhile... almost

Excellent report & pics. Thanks David :thumb2

I'm with Wookie - coupla 'sick' days and B&B's :bounce1 :bounce1

The only thing is that the roads are so changeable and twisty that a cruise control would have been dangerous IMO. I love the gloves (BMW GS gloves) but there isn't much palm padding. My last big trip was 5000miles through europe last year on a VFR and I didn't get a single blister but the gloves had a padded palm. I've also wondered if the heated grips can soften up the skin and leave you more prone to a blister?

Shinobi recommended I read this and it was well worth it and a bump to remind us that just coz it's freezing we don't need to wait till the sun comes out

well done David :thumb2
