I think the routing of brake lines on this new-to-me 2009 G650 xcountry is incorrect. The hard pipe with the 90 degree bend (from front lever, on the left in pictures) interferes with the "tank" cover, and it is not located between the locating/protective tangs. However, I can't simply rotate it clockwise to place it between the tangs, because the hose and top steering yoke would interfere with each other.

The curved piece welded to the headstock (above the hard pipe that comes from the rear brake) almost looks like it could be a guide for a brake line, though I don't know how it would work given the lack of clearance with the yoke.

I know the ownership history and suspect it may have been exactly like this from new. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has run into this, found it made putting the top plastic cover on difficult, and came up with a workaround or solution. Thank you.

You may get more views if you ask a moderator to move your thread to the g650x section (which covers the xchallenge, moto and country bikes)

It's been a while since I've run one with ABS (most of mine are now non ABS) though I do recall an issue with several of my previous ABS ones having fraying brakeline issues at the point the braided part goes into the knurl bit. If this isn't the original routing, maybe it was an attempt to prevent this happening.

When I get home I'll check to see if any of mine in storage have ABS and will update if so.

Just watching a video on youtube re a xchallenge. Screen grab of the routing attached
