Rox adjustable bar risers

Do you have the anti-vibration or standard version?

Do the mirrors vibrate even more or just the same as before the risers were fitted?

Does your back/neck ache any more or less?

Do they improve your riding comfort?

I'm 6'2" (on a good day!)

I use the anti vibe version bought from NN on my GSA and have no problem with numb fingers etc and feel no vibes whatsoever.

Rox risers

I have a set of Std rox risers and the vibration in the mirrors has not changed. its still there.
had no issues re-routing the cable just past it behind the handle bar mounting points instead of in-between them, not had them on long so I put some tape around the cable were it touches the handle bar mount edge just in case it caused any damage.
been on about a month now and the tape shows no signs of wear so may remove it
comfort wise, cant say they are any better or worse when sat on the seat, had no problems with the original set up.

I fitted them for the odd time I need to stand up on the pegs, I'm 6'1 and no longer have to bend forwards, I have also added a set of Fastway foot pegs which are slightly lower than std which also help in the overall standing on the pegs feel.

so with slightly lower pegs and the 2'' higher bars I feel I can control the bike better when standing on the pegs,

could all just be in my head but just feels better now for me

Hi Andy

Interesting that you say that there is no difference comfort-wise when sitting on the bike. I find that I lean forward just enough to be uncomfortable. Would you say that if it were not for your desire to feel more in control when standing on the pegs that the Rox risers were not worth buying?

I do have a pair of LC adjustable footpegs to fit when I can set aside enough time to properly fit the Wunderlich bits to adjust the angle of the brake pedal (I found that at the lowest setting - which is what I want - I could not bend my ankle enough to get my boot onto the brake pedal! I really don't understand why BMW don't have an adjustable brake pedal on the non-LC GS)

I'm a lot shorter than 6ft 2ins and found a low low Kahedo sear made the bars feel like ape hangers, but standing up the bars are just a touch on the low side. So I can see that bar risers will be a benefit to taller riders though for me (with the normal seat) would feel like ape hangers.

The Rox Anti vibes certainly work but are best at 90 degs (perpendicular) to the vibration plane. Mine ware great lying within 30degs of horizontal on a Japanese four (vertical vibe plane). On the Boxer they are likely to be best within 30 degs of vertical which should suit the tall guys really well.

Im the same height at 6"2 and i have the anti-vibe ones fitted, they do make a difference the mirrors do still vibrate.

I no longer get numb fingers with these fitted however they do raise the height so you have to adjust them forward and then tilt the bars back to conteract, it sounds daft but works fine.

IF you know anyone going over the pond then buy them in the states i got mine from this helpful fella and they only cost £70!

try rotating the bars slightly in the original handle bar mounts, that may move them enough for you while sat down.

are the rox risers worth buying?
I got mine 2nd hand off this forum as I didn't think paying full price (now down to £69 from NN they where £79) would justify what extra I got out of them, but now I have them, I like them and Im keeping an eye out for a set of anti vibe ones to see if they are any better.
At £135 a set from NN I wouldn't pay that as the vibration problem I have in the mirrors is not that bad.
I can still see what is behind me just cant identify what it is clearly when travelling at speed
its annoying but not dangerous so at £135 a set I will say no I don't think they are worth it for me
As for vibration in the grips I have a set of grip puppies fitted so no issues there for me

my std risers cost me £40 IIRC posted and for what I get from them I think that's a fair price. £69???? you pays your money you takes your choice

however if someone on here comes along and says there mirror vibration has been solved and has vanished at all speeds as a result of fitting a set of anti vibe rox risers on a 2010 twin cam GSA I may take the plunge and buy a set

I would try playing about with what you have before spending more £££ on bits tho

To repeat Rox anti vibe Riser almost completely removed mirror blur on my Diversion 900 with the added benefit of no numb fingers after 2 hours on M-ways. They cause a slight flex in the bars but it was never even the slightest issue in use.

As said the vibration plane is different so I believe, to be effective on the Boxer, they would need to be mounted nearer to vertical than horizontal.

No cable drama at all in fact you dont even need to disconnect the throttle cable like I did no mirror vibes that I can see. You can fit them in about 10 mins flat and they are good. Feckin expensive but they do what it says on the tin

I was quite surprised to escape the duty. OTH I was relieved as the batteries were sent to my wife's office and, according to UPS and another firm, they only accept cheques in payment of duty, i.e. no cash and I could not expect a receptionist to pay on my behalf.

Got my ROX risers - torque figures for existing bar clamps wanted.

What are the torque values for the handle bar clamps please? ISTR that the values for the two different bolts are different and that they are tightened in a specific order. I have the figures for the ROX riser to handlebar clamp, it's the figures for the clamp on the bike that I need.

One side of the clamp is pulled down solid and can be done to a torque. The other side is pulled down enough to lock the bars in place. This is better done manually because the BMW torque figures will be for the BMW bars. If the Rox are a little larger or smaller diameter this will affect the bolt torque so its better done by feel.

The bike I used with Rox risers had 22mm handlebar clamps. The Rox had 22mm stubs so should have been fine but the alloy stubs into alloy clamps did move slightly over time. Not biggie but annoying. The steel spacer plates used for 28mm bars are ridged so avoid the problem. There should be no need to maul the bolts down as tight as possible.
