I want to fit a pair of Rox Risers to my 700GS. Has anyone bought the anti vibration version? I am tempted to go for them but don't want to spend and extra £65.00 if they don't make much difference. So I am hoping that some of you chaps/chappesses may be able to give me the benefit of your experience?
Thanks.

HI Ted
Yes that is where I saw them I will take a ride round there after Christmas. I was hoping that someone on this site has / is using them. Thanks for the reply.

Is it after Christmas yet?
Interested to know what you think.

HI Bem
Yep it is after Christmas chap. I have just got back from holiday in Madeira with the Mrs. So I will be taking a trip to AB shop probably next weekend the latest. I will let you know. By the way have you seen the picture of the GS800 in Adventure Bike Rider magazine? Its the Jan/Feb edition on page 146. Looks good in my humble opinion.

Have ya been yet mista?

HI Bem
Sure have.
I bought the vibe resistant risers without the cables as Cliff (owner of adventure bike shop) reckoned that I might have enough slack cable to not need to add longer brake lines etc. So I fitted them over the weekend and everything seems ok. I have tested the feel at full lock and there is no excessive tightness on anything. I did the same again with the engine running and there was no problem. Clutch was ok as well. When I get a chance I will give the bike a proper road test but to be honest it all seems good to go.
Fitting the risers is straight forward but it is very difficult to tighten the torx bolts that hold the original clamp down. this is because the new risers get in the way in that they do not give sufficient headroom above the original bolts (that secure the original clamp) to get a torx key onto them in order to tighten them when the handle bars are in the correct position. So I attached all four bolts finger tight and then rotated the bars forward to allow me to get sufficient head room above the two bolts that are nearest the dummy fuel tank. I tightened these as tight as I could to allow me to rotate the bars back and then I nipped the front two bolts up as best as I could given the awkward access. The handle bars feel nice and secure and can't be moved so hopefully this will be sufficient. I wont know for sure until I have ridden a few miles and taken the bike off road. If they move at all then I may have to consider changing the Torx bolts for hex heads or better still if I can find a torx key that will fit in the tight headroom area.

Cliff is very helpful and it was him that said this was the best way to tighten the bolts. But if anyone has a better solution I would love to hear from them.

Quick update on my last post below:-

I have found the perfect solution to the issue regarding tightening the torx screws. I have used the four bolts that come with the touratech sat nav mounting kit (TAT-048-0210). The bolts are hex head and they have shoulders on the shaft of the bolt that takes the head of the bolt above the original handle bar bracket. So it is easy peasy to rotate the bars to the position that you want and then tighten the four bolts with a ring spanner no problem :D I already had the TT kit which in my redundant bits box so for me it isn't a problem. I an not sure if you can buy these bolts separately. But someone must be making them for TT?
Good luck
