Dear me, RST adventure jacket £200 !
2 dudes from work have bought them, got caught out in a down pour, stayed dry, nice and warm too.
During this hot spell we are having loads of vents found them champion.
Had a look at them , well made 3 layers type . For £200 ?

They look great, and at that price you can afford to do the sensible thing:

Throw the waterproof liners away, and buy a one piece oversuit - simple to slip on at the roadside if you get caught short.

I've seen the adverts and they look impressive :thumb2

I've long been looking at the Rukka Kalahari as an adventure jacket......but it's hard to warrant paying so much when any 3 layer jacket offer the same level of waterproofing (ie they're not really!). And with offerings like this performing well, and the Lindstrands Quattra jacket looking great value, buying a cheaper alternative and facing up to wearing a one piece waterproof from time to time makes a lot of sense. :thumb2

Took the plunge, bought one on Friday. Open the vents ,nice cool during a warm day 20`s .
Got rained on Sat ,bone dry so far so good. £500+ to me is a crazy amount of money, £200 ? Well i guess time will tell for a very comfy jacket and looks to do the job.

Just bought a black one today, I walked into the shop and it was the first jacket that caught my eye, looks and feels like a quality jacket for the price. Will let you know how I get on with it once I've done a few runs wearing it.

Replaced the HG gortex with this and i find it is warmer only wear a t shirt and jumper as layers . More comfy and have been dry even in the present climate.
The pockets are small the gps just fits in fairness.
Overall very happy ,nice kit at a fair price.
Hope this helps, Stu

No i don`t get it either, there are massive zip vents down the arms which keep you cool, bit pointless to have detachable sleeves, agree with you. Vents in the rear of jacket and huge vents in the chest for the days we get " hot "?
I can say however nice and warm with a T and jumper and dry all day in the present climate, ;)
Soon be off touring so hope to test the hot bit.
All in all i could not see my way to paying £500 + on a jacket, had a go at HG in the past. Stuff ok, but the main zips keep failing. For £200 and the way it has performed so far i`m happy, but i guess time will tell.

Bought one myself a couple of weeks ago, only things i can fault it on are the strange press stud fasteners that occasionally come undone and could do with more substantial velcro fastening on jacket outer. Otherwise good fitting and very warm with minimal gear underneath. Not sure i'll ever remove sleeves but how many BMW Rallye jkt owners have ever done this ? A good buy even so.

just bought the new black rst adventure jacket and black rst adventure trousers
for £340, a good buy i think, its well thought out and well made, and looks smart, hopefully give em a try out tomorrow,

Hello Cocker, how you doing ? Changed jobs within the company so not a great deal of time off at the min.
With regard to the arms that zip off, found it a great idea off bike to chuck in the top box along with lids , not as hot when going walk about.
Once i get sorted will get in touch Cocker, Tink.

Impressed

I looked at the adventure jacket and ended up buying the Paragon 111 instead. Fantastic jacket so far. Warm and waterproof if a little on the snug side. Well worth £180 IMO

I like this suit but I have a pair of RST trouser that are very warm but not breathable and very sweaty in warm weather, hows the trousers in the sun if you can remember :D
