Anyone got a pattern for a headlamp beam mask for a 2010 1200RT please?

I was planning to hold pieces of card in front of the light to work out the size / shape required but would appreciate some guidance before starting.

Thanks
Mark

I'd never bothered masking the beam on any of the bikes I'd ridden abroad, rarely rode at night so wasn't a problem.

Then I took my new RT to France, constantly flashed by oncoming cars and waved at by pedestrians and that was in broad daylight!!!

Not sure if it's an old wives tale but i have read that applying tape can crack the lens due to overheating. All I did was wind the adjusting knob down then wound it back up when I got home, problem solved.

A lot of people do not bother masking their headlamps nowadays when going abroad.
When we rode to Turkey I did not bother as my plan did not involve riding at night, (Jeezuz daytime was bad enough) However we got caught out when making our way over the central Anatolian Plain from Ankara to the south coast and it was dark.

I parked the bike, the beam was already set to as low as it would so I ended up putting some gaffer tape on as people were really waving their fists at us as we were blinding them on the dark roads.

Same here. :( Never bothered adjusting the light with the GS. However took the RT to Spain last year and was a real problem at night with all cars flashing their lights. Had the beam adjusted as low as possible on the adjuster but can't see an easy way to make it go lower. Anyone know of a way to round this ? as would really like to avoid the gaffer tape option.

For future reference now have the a solution to my own question :) There is a 13mm screw attached at the headlight end of adjusting cable. Turn that - it's difficult to view directly and access is difficult, I ended up having to cut an old spanner in half - and you can adjust the aim. :thumb2
