RT LC final drive shaft what is normal?

Hello, I want to double check this with you please.
When you have the engine off and bike is on centre stand and you spin the wheel by hand can you hear a small knock for every revolution please?
And more knocking sounds of you turn it in reverse?
These are very light knocks but you can still hear them.
Also if you grab the wheel and try to twist it towards and against you can you feel just a little bit of play please?
You cannot visibly see the wheel moving but hear a small tick.

Dont worry, This is normal on BMW shaft drives, when the rear wheel is elevated from the ground. DO NOT start the engine and engage gear when the rear wheel is elevated either, as this could damage the drive.
As for the lateral slack, I believe up to 5mm is normal tolerance.

I never engaged gear when on centre stand.
But do you think you can damage the shaft if I check for wheel play at 9/3 and 12/6 positions?

No you're ok just checking the play. Its just that shafts dont like being driven when uncompressed.
