I had an 1150GS for 3 years. I then had 1200RTs for 6 years and have now gone back to a 1200GSA. Why?
The RT is the most capable bike if you want to cover big miles - the weather protection is superb, the comfort is great (with a Sargeant seat) and it does everything well if you stay on tarmac. But, for me, it is just too clinical - quiet and competent but not rock & roll enough. While my head said the RT was good at everything I wanted it to do, my heart knew that it was missing something - and the GSA rings my bells. It will cruise comfortably up to about 90 and on second rate roads it is absolutely brilliant.
I keep riding it around with a bloody great grin on my face! Go with your heart.
