RT TWIN CAM

Is it heated,,, 😃, I intend to go to France in the summer and the pain of having to stop and get a bottle of water out of the pannier for a sip was just too much to bare so I took a page out of the yanks book and asked for it for crimbo. Fitting air conditioning next.

Nice looking bike Smudge. Really like the colour. Not so sure about the tax disc location though, still that's down to personal opinion. I noticed that she also has the original forks which where changed to the GS style not long after introduction of the Twin Cam.

The RT tankbag carrying handle is the perfect size for holding a 750ml bottle :thumb2

A bottle carrying lanyard from Mesa Verde holds it in place (other lanyards are available) :D

Thanks,

Its a July bike, which is about the time they switched over to the later style fork legs....

I have to agree slightly with the tax disc thing, for me It's not the ideal place but where is? I guess we don't need to worry about that now though....

How about here.

The actual tax disc is a right pain to get to with all those little screws and the holder it'self is secured with two lock nuts so if anyone does go to all the trouble to pinch it they are welcome to it.

That looks nice...

Where did you get the carbon protectors from?? I've been trying to get some for a while now?

Our Gee;3670933. Not so sure about the tax disc location though said:
If you need to put one on, it could have been stuck down at the bottom of the screen at the start of the vee, or on the mat black plastic surround around the vee area, put the screen up you then have more space to get your hand in
I keep mine in the lockable side conpartment

I stick mine to the inside of the screen, with a simple in-car sticker affair. But it'll all be history soon, so one thing less to bother with.:beerjug:

Bizarrely I'm kinda looking forward to it. I hate anything that makes the front of a car look unclean, I removed the GB number plates but that bloody little tax disc,,,,,,, even better on a bike, I've lost count the times the tax disc holder fills with water and ruins the disc. Roll on October.

I've not had a tax disc displayed on any of my bikes for the last 15yrs or more to be honest. I normally carry it under the seat or in the tool kit just in case I got stopped, although now with my nice new shiny RT I have a little pocket in the fairing where it lives.

The reality is that by the time the police have stopped you they already know if the your bike is taxed & insured; and as for traffic wardens checking the tax on a bike well it just doesn't happen (not in my experience anyhow) and it was picked up, I'd just claim its been nicked (which was the reason I stopped putting my tax discs on show in the first place)

Finally the DVLA have seen the sense in this and as stated above from October non of us will have to bother, its about the only sensible thing they have done in years
