Hi All

Can anyone help this I sent my RT1100 rear suspension for a re build, i have had it sent back however it does not now fit. It looks as if they have fitted the remote adjuster where it fits the main body at the wrong angle ie horizontal to the mounting points at the top and there is not enough room here to push the unit up . I believe that this should be at a right angle where there appears to be a recess to allow the unit to meet the mounting point.

I know that this is not particular to the GS but hoping that someone will have some experience about this. Not a happy bunny at the moment and need confirmation that I am right before calling the company that did the re build on Monday.

REAR SHOCK

Hi

It is the standard shock from the factory Showa, I have done a google search for images of the R1100rt rear shock and every image has the pipe for the pre load adjuster fitted at a right angle to the fixing point at the top. I should have taken a photo of the shock before I sent if of but I think that I am right about this.

Had the same problem when I had a rear Showa shock refurbished by the guys in Greenwich. When I took it back to them they just put it in a vice and easily twisted the adjuster round the correct way !

SHOCK

Hi Thanks for the replies

Well not very happy why do they not take notice of the orientation of the remote adjuster and ensure that it goes back the same way,I have wasted a couple of hours today trying to make it fit.

So here is a heads up for anyone else contemplating having their rear shock re built, take a note of how it looks when you remove the shock from the bike,: and make sure that whoever does the rebuild is aware of how it should be put back.:(
