RTBC:Part V1: 1150 top box- bits that are needed

Hello again from sunny Capetown!

I've been offered a bmw black top box for my 2001 1150gs- it's 2nd hand and I'm not sure that's needed to get it to fit onto my bike safely, so any help's appreciated. What's offered is:

The topbox with keys, and

an aluminum cast piece that would seems to have to be fitted where the current grab rail is, without fixtures.

There's no obvious way for the top box to fit onto the aluminum piece, so I'm guessing that there's a mounting bracket needed?

I'd like to get it, because it's a good price, but I don't want to be saddled with getting other parts which I either am not aware of, or can't source here, so what's needed for the full job?

I've had a look for fitting instructions, but couldn't find any, so a bit of pointing in the right direction would be good too.

If it's a genuine BMW GS black plastic top box it mounts on a black plastic/resin base which is a straight bolt on fit onto the rear rack.

I don't know what the cast ali piece is ??

If it's this one...Then this is the bracket you need.

Brilliant- thank you both. I'll be off to the local dealer for pricing on the black base plate then a bit of haggling for the topbox before fitting.

It seems that the aluminum bit was too much sales pitch and not enough knowledge on either part.
