I thought i'd fit rubber gaitors to my lad's 650 Dakar after rebuilding the fork's and adding stiffer progressive springs. Encountered minor problem when you pull the gaitor down over the bottom fork leg you can't then fit the fork bridge bolts and spacers because the bolts won't line up with the holes. It's a very snug fit bridge to fork legs as anyone who has one of these bikes will know. So what have other's done that have maybe fitted the rubber gaitors ? Cut away that small section of gaitor, or just pull down on 70% of the leg radius and not worry about the other little bit ? I know it's omly a minor detail but maybe someone has a fix for it ? I was just going to zip tie them top and bottom, not bother with steel clips.

I attacked my fork bridge with a file, just so there's enough room to get the gaiter down the side. :thumb

If you don't like it just cut a slot in the gaiter to clear the fork brace and fix with a cable tie. Simple:nenau
