Hello,
Hope this is the correct place to put this as it is rather a general query.

On my gsa I 've noticed a small back mark, where my jacket stud (the stud is covered in rubber ? or some synthectic) has clearly rubbed against the tank, ( just above the seat). when riding. A mark already on the bike and I;ve only done 2,000 miles on it from new!!

Tried rubbing it off with some car wash shampoo, with no luck. Does anybody off-hand how I can get this mark off.

thanks

Tiny bit of paint renovator, getly applied or degreaser if the mark is just on the surface.

Then get a tank pad.

I've noticed that the paint on my 08 is very soft so it's been thoroughly waxed with Collinite to keep any potential contaminants at bay.

Try a little bit of silicone spray - seems to dissolve most things. Or WD40. Should only need a tiny bit, and a good wash after if you're worried about the effect on the paint.

Another major fault that should be logged and added to the charge list. If it had been my bike, I'd have called out BMW Assist and expected them to turn up (with a fully spec'd loaner in tow) within 20 minutes at most. This is definitely a warranty issue - don't accept any of this goodwill contribution stuff from your stealer. Insist that nothing other than a brand new bike will do the trick. If it's a BMW jacket you'll be needing that replaced with the latest model also. Fo all of our sakes you've got to force them to understand that this is a life-threatening safety issue and that they will have deaths on their hands worldwide unless there is an immediate full global recall...
