hi chaps,i think the time has come to replace my tuareg suit ,it has been a really good bit of kit but i am thinking of buying a suit which has a waterproof outer garment(rather than a goretex liner).having read back through the many posts on this section i like the look of the rukka armas.BUT i dont like the price much:eek.mr magic fingers posted that he paid £1020 for the suit from a german company!which is a massive saving over the retail price of £1869.95 from motocentral (which is fairly local to me).i havent tried a suit on yet so can anyone offer any advice regarding the best deals available in the uk,will any dealers get near that price or am i dreaming.mike

I took the plunge and got an Athos jacket & trousers @ the NEC show...from Infinity Motorcycles. They did me a mega (show) deal, so it may be worth a call to them to see if they have any xmas offers on.

The fit is perfect (52 jacket = 42" chest & 36" trouser with regular leg).

The construction of the garment is what I would describe as bombproof, with top notch materials being used throughout.

A few of my mates wear rukka and swear by it. Plus, it carries a 5 year warranty with it.

Spend your money at Hein Gericke and get the same quality at half the price. All their Goretex gear carries a two year warranty, with lifetime on the gortex bit.

i agee with you to a point but their top off the range suit is still £1000 !!one thing that peeps have commented on is rukka,s exceptional customer care, plus if im very honest with myself,it matters what the label says:D

Motocentral advertise a price match with any worldwide price on their website.

So it doesn't matter that something does the same job for half the price, you have to show the world how rich you are? :blast

Fair enough...

when you consider the cost of the suit and divide it by 5years (the warranty period for rukka ) its @£1 a day,i bought my tuareg suit six years ago from the bmf show where hein gericke had TWO HUGE marques selling warranty returns etc i must have picked over 20 or so jackets and trousers before i found ones worth buying.and as i stated in the first post it has been a good suit but its never been completely water proof,it dosnt really matter whether you spend £200 on kit or £2000 if it does the job ,but think about how many pissed off customers HG must have had to fill those tents with BARGAINS:D

I bought the armas suit from www.louis.de. Sign up to be a free member and they regularly do 15%-20% discounts on any one item. I have also bought 2 pairs of daytona boots through them. www.biker-land.de is another German site to look at.

recently

bought this from a company called get geared. Not quite Rukka but seems an excellent piece of kit, goretex lockout zip and bonded goretex shell, Reduced from £579.00 to £379.00 at the moment, so far I'm very impressed by it and they do troos to match

Rukka

Hi I brought a armax jacket and trousers from a dealer about 2 yrs ago wife also purchased jacket and trousers .her jacket changed colour due to uv light when she tried to contact the dealer had gone bust, She got in touch with uk importer and returned it for them to look at they sent her a new jacket, then this year my armax jacket and trouser,s stated to change from black to purple colour. Again returned to dealer but the armax was no longer available so they sent me new newer model armas jacket and trousers , other than the colour change not had any problems with them warm and dry always..

Kinda depends really. How many did they sell in total, and what percentage are returned?

Also shows their warranty is worth having as they obviously honour it.

Means my HG kit - totally guaranteed for two years cost 34p a day...

And waterproof guaranteed for the same as everyone else useing goretex. :)

I am thinking of buying a suit next year,i would speak to Bikerland Germany and see what deal can be done for the suit and jacket together and then speak to the uk company who offer to price match.

Rukka Armadillo

Might be worth contacting George Whites. They have Rukka Armadillo suits in their sale offers. Just bought one myself, not top of range but very good quality.

having tried shopping around in the uk and hearing all the dealers sob stories about having no margin to discount further,im going to buy one from bikerland in germany 1500 euros, has any one had any experiance of a warrany claim when bought from germany.
