What's it like in the heat?

There are only two vents on the front shoulders and with the goretex sleeves no opportunity to get airflow through there.

I was informed the the NASA technology liner regulates the temperature as well as the jacket generally being heat reflective.

What's the reality?

I found the liner does control the temperature quite well open the body vents also the small zips on the bottom skirt of the jacket to allow the air to flow opening the collar does help.
There is not much you can do about the sleeves.

Not ridden in this latest heat wave, got armas suit backend of last year to replace a master .IV....so far suit is nowhere near as warm as master IV...to the point of having to put extra layers on as well as liners in ?......So I,m not expecting to cook this summer

Rukka Armax textiles are treated with the TFL cool system which is claimed to reflect up to 80% of the heat from the sun. I find that the suit is still hot in this recent good weather but reckon it would be hotter without the treatment. The shoulder vents are effective in ballooning up the jacket at moderate speeds which also helps in cooling.

Rukka changed my suit under warranty after a year because of a problem they had with the TFL cool system treatment which caused the suit to adopt a red tinge.

Just had a week round Germany at 18 to 27 degrees

No probs ... but then it all depends on your 'pain threshold'

What to one person is uncomfortable to another is quite acceptable

I wore the Armas through the Ukraine and the Crimea....and it got very hot!....but the jacket performed very very well.

Considering the heat it was always comfortable wearing it, and the Cool Black and other materials seemed to work.

I think it's worth noting that you have to allow your body to acclimatise to heat as well....your body will struggle when first encountering extreme heat, but will adapt after a few days....but the ArmaS helps you regulate your body heat.

I would recommend it highly...it's not cheap, but at least it works.

Spent most of last week riding through and around Wales in my Armas suit. It's fine on the move when the vents are open but when you stop it warms up pretty quickly. Then again, anything similar does. wouldn't be without mine.

Nope, I honestly didn't try it, I figured it would be just too hot. the air isn't going to blow through as easily with the liner in. Taking it out part way through the day would mean stripping off to get the liner out of the troos so decided not to scare the natives with that.

First impressions are great

Did a couple of 5 hour runs in temps of 10-25 degrees and through a couple of heavy showers - all no problem (but neither should it have been).

The jacket seems to be a tailored fit, the sleeve/glove system works (previous jacket was velcro fastening which kept coming undone ), the neoprene neck closure creates a great seal to your lid and the lockout zip works (forget about sorting our inner/outer fasteners/flaps).

I only used the inside pockets but the contents seemed to disappear.

So far I have kept the liner in to see if the temperature regulating claim works.

The high-viz also gives a certain presence.

Might have to start saving for the pants

I have taken the liners out of both trousers and Armas jacket for the summer .... and I have ridden through the recent heat on daily commutes and of course you are going to be warm because "it's a hot day" but I have to say I feel cool too ... Rukka is great stuff .. I have the lot and with Altberg boots I NEVER get wet .......
