I'm off to Spain in a couple of weeks and hopefully should be getting some hot weather. I got my Rukka Armax during the winter and have yet to try it out in hot weather to see if this new fangled 'Cool' fabric does what it says on the tin.

Does anyone have experience of this suit in hot weather? Is it going to be boil in the bag or will I be kept at a comfortable temperature?

Thanks
Simon

Its actually quite comfortable - definetely cooler than leathers, and cooler than my old Rukka SRO suit too. I wore the jacket for most of today, and was very comfortable in temps of about 22 deg.

The vents are a bit small, but they are well placed just in front of the armpits.

I wore it in Spain/Andorra/France last year, but I'm sorry to report it pretty much rained each day - but at least it was completely waterproof!

This is with the lining out, mind :D

Funny though, I never really think about the suit - but it somehow it manages to keep me safe, keep me dry, keep me warm and keep me cool, be practical, look decent and be functional. Its a damn good suit really.

Thanks Mike. I'm not sure what to expect in Spain - it should be hot. As you say, I want to put it on and forget, so if it rains I'll be dry, if it's hot I hope it keeps me cool.

The alternative is my Revit summer suit - great if it's hot, however if it's early morning you need a windproof underneath, if it rains you have to stop.

Riding around in full Armax (jacket and trousers) over work shirt and trousers, liners out in the UK up to 27C, very comfortable, no overheating or even sweating, in full sun and muggy weather, the vents have been left open in the rain with no sign of ingress. It does start to get warmer when not moving but surprisingly not too much given you are wearing full spec waterproof motorcycle gear.

Well, just got back from Spain. The weather was hot! I registered 44 in the sun and 33 in the shade on one of the days. We saw 37/38 on some of those outside temperature signs.

Yes it was warm in the Armax but everyone else was suffering too. A summer suit may have been better for the odd occasion when there was a slightly cooler breeze.

Lots of water tipped inside the jacket helped cool things and I have a neck tube that soaks up water which works well.

At times I did wonder whether the Armax was doing its 'Cool' stuff.

If you are looking for a summer suit, I can highly recommend the Rukka APR Strong. Fuly vented (like a T-bag) same armour as Armax, zip out Goretex liners. I start wearing mine when the temps creep above 17-18C and alternate with the Armax, ie sometimes APR trousers and Armax Jacket, depending on fickle British weather.

Makes a very versatile, if expensive, system. But as you know everything comes with 5 year guarantees, so ends up as good value for money over the long term.
