I'm looking at a new jacket - I love the arma-s but can't afford it!!

The Athos jacket is a bit more realistic but I have a question about the 'Z- line goretex liner' is it a separate liner that zips in like the BMW jackets or is it built in to the jacket - my current jacket has three layers, the outer, a goretex middle and a thermal and I hate all the different layers!

The arma-s seems to be just the one layer but I can't seem to find out if the z liner is separate or not

Cheers

not familiar with the athos, but a gore tex z liner is a hanging liner between the inner and outer. it's not bonded to the outer like XCR or pro shell.

As a matter of interest. Have you seen the Revit Everest GTX jacket.

Goretex outer shell so it doesn't get sodden like all the other jackets with goretex inner liners do (in my experience) and at £599 a similar price to the Athos.

Looks quite good too, but I appreciate that is a subjective matter.

Just an idea before you go and part with your 'hard earned'. :D

Nor me, they don't work. I actually prefer the z-liner Rukka Jackets to their more expensive ones. I have 2 and the Alex is better than the Athos - smartriders still have a few left and will do one at a good price posted.

No the revit I havnt come across yet but will look into it - especially now the z liner isn't a silly zip in thing it's opened up avenues such as halvarssons - I'm gonna be busy!

mrs cookie has a rukka Z liner suit and is very happy with it. it has certainly never leaked.

i have a mixture of A-Tech and Armas bonded suit and would not want to go to a hanging liner unless i had to :nenau

Goretex liners are a complete waste of time, I know I have one....:blast

The outer shell needs to be waterproof, end of.:rob

Haven't had a problem with any of my Rukka Performance Shell. Use Nixwax for the outer. Rip or tear the outer on a more expensive suit and it is ruined. I know I have had that happen :blast

I don't mean they don't work, they do. I mean when you take it out your suit is no longer waterproof, not as if we live in Spain. Plus the jacket ways a ton once it is wet and drips for ages wherever you are.

Crap

Eee it's a good job people can buy their own int'it!

I appreciate the varying view points - I do like the idea of the outer layer not absorbing the water tho- gonna try a few on this weekend :)

Take what out? The liner is integrated into the body of the jacket :blast

i don't believe you're thinking of a z liner. it's built into the garment, not like those dumbass things that zip out that bmw are so fond of.
