I bought the Rukka Down-X Jacket & Pant earlier this year, after selling my heated gear as i no longer ride frequently or long enough during the colder months. I wasn't expecting a lot from them, but i have been impressed by their performance so far and they should still enable a decent ride out during the Cold weather.

When riding in what i would normally wear i feel the cold on the suit/my outer layers. This would normally be 200 weight icebreaker top & legs, jeans, cotton t-shirt, mid-weight fleece & Rukka Aldridge. Plus potentially a Klim Zephyr on top. Where as with the Rukka gear on i don't feel the cold or chill at all. All i am wearing is 200 weight icebreaker top & legs, Cotton t-shirt, midweight fleece + Rukka down x.
Even today being out on the Bike for 5 hours or so at Motorway speeds in 5 degrees (about minus 5 windchill) i was absolutely fine. They do a great job of keeping you insulated from the cold & retaining the body heat.

I managed to pick them up on a sales/Motolegends price beat for £250 for the set. Not a bad deal overall for what i want them for, and how well they have performed so far.

Yep - great kit. For riding I prefer the original Down-X jacket - the short one - because it's so much easier to zip jacket to troos when wearing it, rather than a longer one. Only disadvantage is that it looks a bit odd when worn about town when on tour.

The Down-X leggings are a total game-changer in properly cold weather.
