Like the look of Rukka but no stockists near me (Oxford), unless you know different? No idea about the range, what's good & what's to be avoided.

I'm aware of the Bikerland.de for decent prices.

Have a look at Infinitys, at the NEC a couple of years ago they had brand new end of range gear at very cheap prices, the man on the Rukka stand told me. Brought a jacket for £249 still in wardrobe as my 11 year old from motor cycle city's sale is still going strong. After 11 years it's red colour has still not faded as badly as two year old twat suits and it's been through deserts and very wet conditions many times. Expensive but very good have a look at the NEC get one here and you'll more than save the entrance fee!.

Having had both Streetguard and Rukka, I think Streetguard is betterVFM

I can't remember what mine is, it was the predecessor to the Armax. I think the more expensive ones have the more abrasion resistant outers, as well as more breathable and removable liners etc.

can't fault it - the only actually waterproof jacket I've had, and very warm only need the lining in when its very cold, plus convenient pockets, sensible collar design and very comfortable.

I quite liked the look of this.

They probably have it in skinny vegetarian size

Make sure you try one on as the collars can be quite small/narrow.

My last jacket was a Hein Gericke Jacket - sorry don't recall the model. It lasted me about 5 years in most weathers and was a great fit but not 100% water proof - water would creep at the cuffs & around the neck but more or less pretty good. Cost me about £180.

Then I bought a Rukka All Road In black it's a great looking Jacket, but cost £650. Fits where it touches due to the lack of adjustment on the jacket particularlyaround the waist where most people will need it.

It seemed Ok in the dealer but then it was "stiff and new" and seemed tight.

As for it's waterproof qualities... well I rode it through a monsoon. Didn't let a drop in. Absolutely amazed. 3 hours later it was still dripping water after i hung it up to dry.

So if you need a waterproof jacket get one. If you need one to fit well without drafts etc, wait till they fix it Then it might be the best jacket you ever owned.

However, this summer I bought a BMW Tourance Jacket via ebay. It's comfortable, it fits, and it's waterproof and it cost me £50. If I'd know I wouln't have spent so much on the Rukka given the poor fit even though its "bullet proof" water resistance qualities

So if its warm I take the BMW liner out and if it's cold I put it in and haven't needed anything more yet so I wear the BMW all the time now .....

The Rukka has left me thinking it promised so much but has delivered, well amazing water resistance (as long as the liner is in otherwise it's a sieve), but so little otherwise.

I've got Rukka Steal (now discontinued I think) and I've owned many others Dianeese etc. To me the Rukka is the best Jacket Trouser combo I've ever had, it've worn it at -6 to +30 If I looked out of the window and it was pissing down I'd still go for a ride to Wales and back (in fact I do). I was riding back from London a couple of weeks ago 2.5 hours of motorway with spray from lorries etc bone dry inside. I will agree that the outer material obsorbs water as do other textiles, but none has ever got through. It is now coming up to three years old and I do around 1k miles per month.

Oh and just to pick up on a point made on another post, When its hot and your wearing a tee shirt underneath, no liner in, if it rains you think the arms have leaked but it's actually condensation from hot body and cold rain, wear a thin long sleeved shirt and you don't get the wet feeling

...I bought the A-Tech from Biker-land 12 months ago and its by far the best gear I bought...

I wear it every day and for me one of the biggest plus is that it dries so fechin quick despite getting soaked....

...I'm told that once I eventually wash & dry it, (& u can tumble dry it) it will become more water repellant, as it was when I first got it....

Its not cheap but I need gear to last more than 12 months and it needs to keep dry/warm....

From memory the equivelant HG jacket/trouser wasnt any cheaper than the deal I go from bikerland....

... and I'll keep saying it. Try Halvarssons gear, try a search or read this thread. It's top kit, looks good, does everything you asked for at a fraction of Rukka/BMW pricing

None of my Rukka gear has ever leaked, full stop.

Most of my Gericke gear has been okay, but not even close to Rukka quality and has all worn and looked worn fairly quickly. When it was cheap to buy that was okay, but the latest Voyager suit is over £800

I got the full Safety Suit 2 1/2 years ago. It gets worn every day and is still waterproof and warm. I came home tonight with just a t-shirt on under the suit with the temp sensor flashing a frost warning.

The thing is that in the summer you just change the outer and it's lovely and cool.

Oh - and did anyone mention that the whole suit is CE approved, not just the armour?

IMO there's just nothing close for the money.

I bought a Rukka Air Power jacket and trousers from infinity just over two years back now and its an incredible bit of kit! I can't claim its kept me bone dry, but the kit its self has never leaked and its always kept me warm.

Two key occasions I can think of was firstly stopping to help a lady change a tyre in during a summer storm 2 years back - the road around us flooded but the jacket kept me dry while I changed the tyre and then while I rode back cross country fro Reading to Lechlade. The second time was riding back from Assen April this year - I don't know if anyone else was on the road during that storm, but all I could see where the lights a few meters in front of me - again warm and dry for the whole ride back

The one thing that I do find with my gear though is I do get wet across the stomach, I'm guessing its just the clothe wicking where the jacket and trousers overlap, but thats the only place.

I've also got their base layer kit and again its great, keeping you warm or cool through a reasonable range of temperatures. The waterproof lining on mine is on the inside and can be easily stripped out when the weather warms up and quickly reinstalled if it drops off again

I'd always been againsts textile jackets before, having riden a lot of sports tourers I was a leather man through and through, but the Rukka was the only jacket I tried on that gave me the same safe cocooning sense as a proper leather jacket - possily more so as the Rukka has far superior armour to any other jacket I've owned

I've got to be honest though warmth wise I've bought a Giali heated fleeze and that's just fantastic for keeping you warm and alert - I'd recommend anyone to try one out and see just how much more alert it keeps you on a cold day.

The other thing that really impressed me with Rukka is the 5 year warranty and if you buy from Infinity (at least at the time) they offered a free like for like replacement while yours is being returned for repair. I dont know if they are still doing it, but that speaks volumes to me about how good they think the product is.

And another great thing... connecting mismatched kit together is a pain - trying to find the right zips etc - Infinity pointed me in the direction of the UK disty, one phone call later and I had a matching zip to the jacket winging its way to me FOC - this meant I could happily pair a Rukka Jacket with some HG leather jeans I had - Excellent service if you ask me!

They arent cheap, but they are a great product.

Sorry JB, but I wouldnt touch the BM range with a barge pole, I'd feel the same about KTM range if I had their adventure as well - I'd just feel branded

HG do a great suite aimed at the offroad market (at least it looks great at a distance, though I'm not so sure close up) and it looks like Rukka have brought out something in a similar vain (one I'll definately be having a look at)

Had some HG gear - leaked like a sieve.

I now use Rukka Armacor gear and its superb. I use it daily and when bits do wear out due to mechanical use e.g. zips, velcro, etc. they get sorted by Rukka. They fix / replace as they wear for 5yrs. Maybe not a good offer for leisure bikers, but useful for people who use their bikes for daily transport.

I'll spend £1000 on my next Rukka suit without batting an eyelid - £200/yr for decent all year round kit, bargain.
