Rukka nivala 2 jacket

Typical FC Moto they are useless and I wouldnt buy again from them as I had a pair of Rukka trousers I sent back and they returned those saying they had zero defects. Next ride water soaked through so I contacted Rukka in the UK and was told my warranty wasnt valid as I bought them outside the UK so it was with FC Moto.

There are ways around that.

I get some people have had issues with the Nivala
Mine, bought 2019, is still 100% waterproof / windproof
Used last month for a short trip to Kintyre, trip there, torrentail rain N Wales to Preston
Return trip again very very wet from Carlisle back to N Wales
No leaks anywhwere
Once I discovered early on that the only water ingress was down the back of my neck, I sorted that out
I got the jacket with a good discount to mid £800's at the time, so it has been value for mony for the use I have had out of it
Would I buy the Nivala 2 ...... No
Nor would I buy the matching Goretex / textile pants in any brand

Not sure I’d call mid £800s good value when you can get a more comfortable and nicer jacket to wear for under £300

I find the Nivala very comfortable, it has stretch and is not in any way stiff or cumbersome
The down jacket is superb and I use it a lot as just a coat when away
Mine is in excellent condition for its age and use, so hopefully it will be waterproof for a while yet - Still got the lifetime Gore warranty if needed
Good quality armour including chest and back was included, no need to buy extra or upgrade
The cuff system works well in not letting any water in, as does the removable neck gaiter although I supplemented this with a Halvarrsons neck collar
I've had cheaper, and mid range jackets in the past that were waterproof up to a point, this jacket goes past that point for me
So for the mileage and conditions it's been through I would say it has been good value to me
Everyone will find what works for them, the Nivala 1 works for me, but I won't be getting a Nivala 2 should it need replacing

Must admit after reading of so many leaks with Rukka gear it put right off the brand. I think you get more for less with Halvarssons/Linstrands these days.

I've got and have Halvarssons for last 6 years. It's never leaked, fits really good, very well made, it's on par with Rukka. It's just doesn't have Gortex for its breathable membrane. I wash/reproof it twice a year. Other than the stick on rubber logos on the shoulders, which are lifting or fallen off it's performed perfectly. For what is half the price.

The Nivala 2.0 costs crazy money for an off-the-shelf suit, particularly one that only manages the worst possible CE protection rating.

At this price point, why wouldn’t you buy made-to-measure textiles from Hideout or BKS?

Maybe because when you go to sell it, the sizing is not universal. I have BKS made to measure leathers, but they won't fit anyone else as well :)

Surely the most important part is that it fits you, the residual value once you have finished with it is very much secondary IMHO

Pity everyone doesn't agree with you, just look at the for sale section on here.

For those who have experienced issues with the Nivala 2.0 jacket letting water in through the arm vents, it looks like Rukka accept this and have now revised their design.
Mine arrived from Motolegends this morning, and the jacket arm vents now have a storm flap covering them instead of the zip parking hood. The vents on the pants are the same. 🤞this works.
