Sorry, I just discovered (remembered) the name is D3O not D20.

Just took a shoulder pad out of my Jacket, and it says D30 - but it's not as thick as the stuff in the Badlands, but still it's soft not stiff, which means that it can role up when you're sliding.

I have Knox in my Stadler, which is awesome, but heavy as ..., I would guess my jacket is ~5 Kg.

But this is not a discussion about Klim, it's about weather Rukka is worth the money or not - the expensive stuff like the Gore-Pro with Super fabric is probably worth the money, looking at the cheap stuff (500-600€ list price) I would say that the expensive RevIT is probably as good, and fits just as well. But then again it's not Rukka.....

Just changed mine, the previous outfit lasted 15 years....
So treated myself to a new Armas, although it was not needed, recently rode 12 hours in pouring rain and no waterJust changed mine, the previous outfit lasted 15 years....
So treated myself to a new Arma S, although it was not needed, recently rode 12 hours in pouring rain and no water ingress at all, only look like a drowned rat, was dry and snug as a bug.
To my understanding ingress at all, only look like a drowned rat, was dry and snug as a bug.

4 years of pretty much daily use and still utterly watertight. The fly zip on the trousers has just failed, though the suit stays waterproof due to the gusset. It's going back and will most likely be replaced. I bought mine at a hefty discount from bikerland in germany. I'd buy another one tomorrow if this failed, I think it's well worth the money if you ride year round most days.
 
I too am a big Rukka fan – I have the Armas jacket and pants – worn daily for almost three years – comfy warm and completely dry – have never leaked at all. I would certainly recommend them and will definitely replace them with the same / equivalent in 10 years – if necessary!

When you go to Mongolia I have a great map, shows all the roads and tracks and the places to obtain petrol (not necessarily petrol stations) we found it absolutely indispensable ... you can have it with pleasure :thumb
 
I've got both the Rukka Armas and the klim Badlands.
The klim is a generally looser style of fit, with a lot more ventilation zips and seems more suited to off road riding and warmer temperatures.
The Rukka is a very snug fit and is warmer, even without the liner, so great for cooler weather but gets quite sweaty on me above 20 degrees.
IMHO whilst the Klim is an excellent bit of kit, the Rukka feels higher quality, offers better protection and I like the snug fit for riding on the road. Is it worth the extra then I would have to say yes, based on my own experience of riding in both in the UK. Having said that, if it's hot weather here or I'm off to the continent in the summer I would go in the Klim as the extra ventilation really helps.
How do these suits rate versus much cheaper options I've no idea as the only other apparel I've used is one piece Crowtree race leathers!
Hope this helps, but as always it really is best to go try stuff on and see how it feels on you.

Are Rukka outfits more suited to cooler weather? Im happy with my Lindstrands outfit for summer, but I do need to buy something for winter. Im currently tempted to get the new 2014 Streetguard suit.

Yes!!! Initially the price hurts, but it is a genuinely four season suit. I've worn it through horrendous downpours, 40 degree heat, and it copes with it all :thumb2
 
I`m interested in the Armas but really wanted the black and yellow jacket option. Do you have any and what kind of discount?

4 years ago a friend and I went to the NEC looking for new kit. I got measured for a BKS 2 piece, friend bought the Rukka Armas 2 piece. He commutes 70 miles a day in most weathers. I rode for fun on a Gixer 750.
Now i've got a GS and ride all year I'm looking at Rukka stuff. His Rukka 2 piece has remained waterproof, the neck by the corners where the closure strip ends has worn through but that is all the wear he has.
TranAm are the importers of Rukka for the UK and online registery for warranty will get you 6 years. If you buy Rukka abroad it's 1 or 2 years. This is seperate to Gores 'lifetime garauntee' on being waterproof! TranAm no longer repair the Rukka if you come off and damage the stuff. (as reported in Ride recently).
It is very expensive, but if you ride all year round for 6 years then it seems a decent cost. The armour is Dows and is ment to perform well. Forcefield from what I've read still out performs it though.

They use D3O for armo, it is thicker than the what Klim is using, but it is still only level 1... you have to upgrade it to get level 2 (abrasive).

(D3O T5 Evo is level 1 and D3O T5 Evo Pro is level 2)

I bought a Rukka suit a couple of months ago. Rukka Armaxion jacket and Trousers. Wanted a decent all round touring kit with pro shell gore tex outer shell. This seemed to tick the boxes. Tried the gear on in the UK and the saved a few hundred quid and bought it from Biker Land in Germany. Bear in mine when ordering Rukka gear though, I am a 42 inch chest and their sizing indicates a Euro size 54 would fit. Had to return this and exchange for a size 52. The sizing on Rukka gear seems to be a size too big. Aside from that pleased with the gear so far and seems to be made to high standard and comes with D30 armour for hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and back protectors.

It is made in China but so what. BMW bikes are made in Germany and we all know the qulity roll of honour issues they have had of late.
