Rukka - Worth The Money?

yes to rukka had mine seven years now everything works still looks like new jacket is freying round the neck so i might replace it next year still keep the old one spare, dont be frightened buy the inital price over seven years it's paid for it's self:thumb2

Purchased!

Got the Allroad jacket and trousers yesterday from Infinity Farnborough. Also decided to replace my 9 year old 150,000 mile Sidi Rain boots (still not letting in a drop but the sole is about to give out) with a pair of Daytonas at the same time. Had to take a couple of very deep breaths when typing in the pin  and thinking about the post purchase marital consequences  !!

The fit of the gear is superb, manufacture quality excellent and initial impressions are good, although it'll need to soften up a bit and get some big miles in all conditions under the belt before any useful judgement can be made.

Oh and SWMBO took the news well, however my weekends have been sacrificed to our house restoration project for the forseeable  !!

FIT AND FEEL OF HEIN GER

BEFORE PURCHASING MY NEW RUKKA I TRIED ON THE FOLLOWING SUITS ; STREETGUARD 3 ; MASTER GORETEX PRO ; THE BMW WASNT BAD BUT THE ARMOUR WAS A LITTLE BIT INTRUSIVE IN THE COAT . THE HEIN GERIKE WASN'T A GOOD FIT AND IT FELT CHEAP , ( ALTHOUGH NOT PRICED THAT CHEAP COMPARED TO THE SUPERIOR BM SUIT) . ALTHOUGH I STILL HAVENT GOT OVER THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT I PAID OUT FOR THE RUKKA IT IS A GOOD FIT AND FEELS A BRILLANT QUALITY ITEM. HARD TO JUSTIFY THE COST BUT THEN YOU PAYS YOUR MONEY--------------.

In a word NO to Rukka, from me.

Not worth the money IMO and you will need that guarantee, I used my guarantee 5 times:blast the stuff leaks like a sieve.

My Rukka kit now hangs in the garage unworn, even though it is fairly new and the leaks have been sorted.

What ya replaced it with?

Gonna try a Rukka Allroad as you only live once!

Its gonna put a big hole in my bank balance but it seems very sturdy kit with good armour which after having a bad off lately is very important to me!

Recently tried Rev'It and Dainese jackets but they seemed quite flimsy with very thin weak looking protectors.

The 5 year warranty has got to be a major bonus as well

Halvarssons here - had it 3 years and it's still warm/cool/waterproof. Top kit. I'd get one of the safety jackets - go see one before you buy it - you'll see why it's so 'different' from anything else on the market. And it's significantly cheaper than Rukka - I wouldn't buy anything else ever again.

The NEC show is possibly the best place to see everything 'in the flesh' before you shell out serious cash.....

What ya replaced it with?

Initially with a HG cruise suit. That lasted 4 years used daily, still good now and hasn't ever leaked but it is beginning to look a little tired.

I now have a twat suit, quite impressed thus far.

My friend also has a Rukka suit and he has had loads of problems too, both parts replaced twice.

I've been slightly disappointed with my All Road.

It water proof beyond belief - but only if you have the liner in!

I rode through a monsoon once with the liner in and not a drop got through - totally amazed.

Shortly after I rode it in a shower without the liner and was very surprised to get wet.

So as long as you have the liner in, its great. But a tad warm in Summer if you have the liner in and showers are forecast.
