I have 2610 on bike please info ON a smaller GPS that would run alongside, as a back up.

May be something I could also put on my trail bike, bike has no battery- kick starter only.

I'll be using a garmin III plus for Morocco, and I've also used it on trail bike (xr 250 like yours) and had to run it off it's own batteries despite trying to wire it from the bikes charging system, it kept switching itself off.

The III plus doesn't do auto routing so a Garmin V would be even better coz it does. Either will accept the standard Garmin power lead. If you need a copy of Mapsource World Map, UK R+R, France Italy and a few others let me know and I'll get them to you.

I wouldn't advise you bringing two GPS's, too much hassle and the only time we'll need them for real is whilst riding on the pistes, when your 2610 would be uneccesary as we'll just use it for confiming Waypoints.
So IMO best option is for small simple GPS and map.

Not too long now:) :)

Quest

The quest would be the one, much smaller than the 2610 but with a higher resolution screen and a 20 hr lithium battery, you can take it off and put it in your shirt pocket.

I agree with Jimb as the quest would be ideal

I am leaving the 2610 at home and taking Etrex Vista I got off EBay.
