Aldeburgh

Hello G, guess what I can do 20th if a small select group still want to go, also Mike from sudbury would be up for it. What do you reckon.................... (just like to add confusion and faff around a bit more!!!) John B:D :D :D

Very likely me too. BTW, have you checked the fish & chip shop is open on a sunday? This is Suffolk we are tal;king about here!

.

I do believe both shops are open from 12.00 midday until 14.00 only. The one on the right handside of the high street is good, but the one on the left on the corner down the bottom serves the best but is very popular and you could wait 30 minutes to get served, but worth waiting for.Andy

Where ase we meeting....

in Lavenham? I don't know the place very well - stayed at the White Swan once and remember a big church just down the road from there.

Bollox

G..

And my Falco-riding mate has just told me he's got two tickets for Brands Hatch. All of a sudden a wet Sunday in Aldeburgh doesn't sound quite so appealing....

Massive Turnout

Well 3 of us made it; myself, Speggo and Martin F (who joined us at Aldeburgh). Lavenham was lovely but dead , it started to pick up as the tourists arrived just as we left for our run to Aldeburgh. This was interesting, particularly when we had to negotiate an uncharted ford caused by the heavy rain the night before. We arrived in Aldeburgh just in time to join the queue for the Fish and Chips which went down a treat as we sat on the sea wall watching the nude bathing. Shortly afterwards we ran out of subjects to talk Bollox over and went our separate ways.

Nearly Billy No Mates goes to the Seaside

So where were you all?

Having spent 40 minutes sharing a bus shelter in Lavenham with it's oldest remaining resident ( who explaned at great length that the bus shelter was built on the site of the old well, that he had fallen arches from working on the land all his life, and everything was the fault of asylum seekers) I was saved by the arrival of Pegleg - aka Bob - and we set off for the seaside.

A pleasant run through suffolk's finest 30mph speed restrictions bought us to Aldborough - holiday home of the Islington cogniscenti - and excellent fish & chips.

45 minutes of idle chat - aka bollox - and time to go home. MartinF finally located us, having travelled up from Essex on his own.

Shame more of you couldn't join us. Hope for a better turnout next time.

Well, at least the three of us did actually manage to meet!

I went back to Snape for a tea and chatted with another GS owner (650 variety) all the way down from Pitlochry for a concert. Unfortunately he couldn't come by bike...

Shame....

...I was up for this. I checked the site on Saturday evening, and it looked like most people had dropped out, (PegLeg, I didn't see a post that you were going on the rideout) and no-one had answered my question of where were we going to meet.

I had the prospect of travelling from Stevenage on the off-chance that the remaining one or two people would show up at a place I didn't know - so I stayed home.

Hope to see you next time.
