Hi all,

Have just returned from a 10 day trip to Italy on the bike and this is the first "long" run on the bike since fitting the Remus Y piece and Titanium end can. First thing I noticed was that the bike's oil temp was regularly showing an increase of 1 bar in temp.

This was mainly on the motorway stetches. The exhaust has also baked the pannier frame which goes accross the back of the bike:( This never happened on three previous trips with the standard set up.

I have a K&N filter and have done the cat code jumper conversion. The bike runs well with no flat spots or surging etc.

Was wondering why its running so much hotter?:nenau

Jon :)

Warmer climate than that of the UK. European ambient temperatures are higher than that of UK.
Makes a lot of difference to engine heat transfer when applied to engine cooling and oil temperature/performance.

At a guess: On the longer (high speed?) m-way runs along with the increased ambient temp the whole bike will be heating up - frame, drive train, tank etc :nenau
Either that or it's about explode :D

edit: how fast were you cruising? Last trip out I cruised the m-way in +35C at about 60-70 but no increase in temp readout. And I had the cylinders covered.

my 12 runs one bar hotter once out of the uk permadamp.

Well according to the GPS I was cruising at about 80-85mph:o

My main concern was of lean running. I have read pages and pages on the plus and minus to remus etc.

Have to add that the bike was fully loaded with camping gear etc.

Will see how I go now back in the good ol UK :D

Nice to know that I'm not the only one it has affected.
