Can someone put my mind at ease please. The 1150 final drive does get very gently warm when riding doesn't it? Not hot, just everso slightly warm to the touch. I'm having some pre Eurotrip mechanical paranoia :eek Can someone have a feel of their final drive next time your out and let me know what it feels like :thumb2
TIA :)

It should run very cool. Anything above ambiant is a sign of impending catastrophic doom.

Don't worry Atkule.....it's an alloy casing containing some large and fast moving parts with a fair amount of force going through them.......it's gonna get warm :)

To calm your brain, change the FD oil....if it's oily coloured and there's no major swarf on the end of the drain plug, replenish it and forget about it...if it's gone emulsified or nasty and smelly, change it and forget about it.

If it's got major swarf on the end of the drain plug though.....................

Thanks chaps, I can relax now :) It runs just skin warm to the touch, oil replaced recently, it was clean with no swarf or even any black stuff on the plug magnet. Nice!
