Rusty Frame

Hi all,

I have a Y-Reg 1150 complete with rusty tail frame. Thankfully Ocean BMW have been superb and are fitting a new one - no quibbles.

Has anyone else had this problem, there seems to be more areas of rust than any other bike I have had. I have also noted that a few of you have had the bits of the forks replaced due to rust. i think mine are the same, but there was no offers of replacement. I have noted that this is a common thing on a few GS's I have seen.

Anyone else had probs???

A few weeks ago I was visiting various dealers with a friend, who was looking for a R1100S, quite a few of the S models had very bad corrosion on the rear sub frame supports, they were mostly one to two year old bike with quite low mileage.

I use "Back to Black" cleaner on my frame, this puts a layer of black silicone on the frame to protect it. My frames 8 years old and looks like new.
