Dear friends

It is with great regret that I write to tell you of the decision for Rydale Cardiff to cease trading as a BMW Motorcycle Dealer on the 31st of May 2007.

This difficult decision recognises that the culture and core business of selling motor cars is where our focus and activities will be concentrated.

Whilst we will continue to offer services until the end of May I can confirm that any immediate Service and/or Warranty requirements during this time or after this date may be met by contacting the following nearest BMW Approved Dealers:

Bristol Motorrad 01179 711447
BVM Moto Stroud 01453 762743

BMW UK are working hard to ensure that a replacement BMW Motorcycle dealer for Wales is appointed in the very near future and that any agreement will be communicated as soon as possible.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported the Rydale Cardiff Motorcycle Team over the last six years and am sure that you will join me in wishing future success to those Team members who have endeavoured to look after your Motorcycling needs during that time.

For further information including our revised opening hours visit www.rydalebmwbikes.co.uk or email [email protected]

For details of clearance offers on our remaining stock of new and used BMW Motorcycles, parts stock and rider equipment. visit www.eBay.co.uk (click on ‘advanced search’ then ‘Items by seller’ then enter rydalecardiff).

Good luck & get bidding!

Kind regards

isn't this the same rydales that ...ooooh...about 3 years ago were derided on here for being useless...wasn't it the same çrampie'?....didn't i prophesise their demise back then ?

he-he-he....twats !

rydales demise

cant say im sorry bought my hp2 from them a good deal but told them about the buggered forks and did'nt get much of a response you are the weakest link bugger off into unemployment obscurity

I for one think it's a real shame and very short sighted of the car dealership that has taken Rydale over and decided they don't do bikes. I have always had excellent service from the guys there and it now leaves us in South Wales with having to travel to Bristol or Stroud for servicing - not easy before or after work!

WE HAVE SEEN IT ALL BEFORE

Guys now cast your collective minds back, CAR DEALERS have tried to get into bikes before and they have all gone the same way. The problem IMHO is that they do not understand bikes or bikers. They look down their collectve noses at us we get the hump we then go elsewhere the bean counters come up short lets get rid of the bike section is the cry. Whilst on the subject of car dealers pin back your eyes and re read this yes you were right first time::::
Recently had a recall on the cage brake calliper related no problem no charge sir received a phone call mid afternoon "Whilst we were doing the recall work we noticed that the disks and pads are near the minimum (70000 Miles) would you like us to sort that whilst we have the car" OK says I how much? £*** OK says I when I see the itemised bill They charged £27.00 + VAT to remove two front wheels which they had to remove to do the recall. Thats another customer they have lost for ever. Taking the pi$$ or what.

WTF has that got to do with anything

Echo the sentiments already said by robp, the demise of a BMW bike dealership in South Wales will be a huge blow and a massive inconvenience for working folk who live there that have bikes still in the warranty period.

That's true in many places.

Astle BMW in Grimsby is an interesting place - the car showrooms (BMW and Mini) are on either side of the bike showroom. The atmosphere in the bike showroom is tangibly different, more relaxed and very friendly. Walk through the doors into the BMW car showroom, and hushed voices and a very much more restrained and even snooty atmosphere hit you like a cold wind. It's really odd. Bikers call in for a chat and a coffee, and are always made very welcome. No pressure. Car buyers receive (and probably want) a very different approach.

Maybe Rydale in Cardiff could have learn something from that.

It's always good to see the opinions of those with actual experience of dealing with the dealership. They are so valuable:rolleyes:

HUMOUR?????

Depends on your perspective I suppose :nenau

they were obviously attacking Bahnstormers opening.

Maybe not, maybe they were trying to inject some humour into their own rather sad situation, knowing that they had no budget they could offer no attractions,so instead went for the no frills approach-now that I did find a little bit funny if not ironic;)

As were Rydale I think.
