Afternoon

yes Greg Masters, i have surfaced again, i trust you are well?

Anyway, some Schmuck nicked my 2014 GS the other night from outside the house, so thought i should tell the world about it..... So Black & Silver 2014 GS TE RJ14 ODE, literally lifted from the front garden and assumedly into a van........and per the boys in blue, it will now be in a container heading for eastern europe or somewhere that supports stolen to order......... their words not mine....

Not too fussed about the bike it is all the hassle and cost that goes with it.

Am really interested in physical security used by others so i can get the right kit. i think i have decided on a Almax or Pragmasis chain and lock but am looking for guidance on a ground anchor. i know the almax and pragmasis are bomb proof but also big and don't always fit into some anchors. i want a concrete into the ground type but it will need to work with an Almax or pragmasis and wondered if anyone has any ideas or experience? like the look of an oxford terraforce or similar and wondered who is doing or using what?

the bits i am looking at are one of the following but am open to ideas:

thanks in advance and really look forward to hearing back and is this the best section to post this in ?

Sorry to hear that mate.

I use the uncroppable Almax Immobiliser III Chain (£100) and Squire SS65CS Flagship Stronghold Lock (£74) with a Hardie Ground Anchor (£50). This is one strong kit, you will not regret getting the lot! It won't get nicked again without the thieving bastards resorting to noisy power tools.

Get the whole kit from Almax for £210

See the videos online of the uncroppable chain but check this out for the ground anchor:

Y Max Anchor , Allmax immobilser 4 chain with squire sc65 and pragmasis anti pinch pin through the rear shaft drive , plus a tracker and 2 shotguns

Almax "strongly advised against using the pin as they feel a fluid object like a chain is harder to cut than a solid pin?". But I think that depends how you use it.

However, it looks like a bloody good idea to me, much better than simply passing it through a wheel, which can quietly and easily be removed - better to go through the shaft drive. It should pass through the frame of my F800GS as well.

I'll definitely be getting a tracker, alarm and Pin for the GSA LC when I pull the trigger at Motorrad. Recovering a bike with the tracker is great but much better chance of catching the bastards red handed too.

I would be interested to no how many bikes actually get recovered with a tracker device fitted, by the police.

Hi, wish it was under better circumstances but interested in all the replies and offers of suggestion. Now doing battle with insurers.......oh joy............

I reckon its not many.

And cars with the Tracker branded device aren't worth having in my opinion. Not many police cars have the Tracker receivers fitted for a start, and theres always the issue of them giving off false random 'beeps' all day which will just be ignored. Which is why I use trackers that can be monitored myself on a tinter web map.
