Have the EXP's since I bought the bike...savage, uber grip, wet or dry. very stable, cant fault em...Well....except for the fact the centre wears down a little quick  Apparently the Metzler "next" address this issue (?).

OR

I could just go down the Bridgestone route, a brand I am also familiar with.

I wont be doing much dirt stuff now, few things in the pipeline so wkends will be for the little red italian twin before the winter closes in.

What say you ?

( not interested in another tyre, just these )

I went for the Next and find them very good ,Time will tell about wear issues Ps my bridgestone rear 3000 miles and front 55oo miles also had tourance on rear 3000 miles as well

Battlewings are not a patch on the Tourance EXP's, by all accounts the Next is a far better tyre.

I went with Roadsmart 2's for my 3500 mile Alps trip, they felt even better than the Metzelers, not that I could fault the Tourances, just the Dunlops felt more planted and inspired more confidence, seem to be wearing better too.

I had originally planned to fit the Next, but there was no rear tyres in stock when I went to purchase them - probably be my "next" tyre :blast

I had the Battlewing as OE on my S10. I was very happy with them. Until I replaced them with Michelin PR3 which are miles better, in the literal and figurative senses.

Go with the Metzelers.

Metzler NEXT it is so...

Fitting them next month, lof of expenses this month as it is

Will update.

+1 for michelins, just fitted pilot road 3 trails best wet tyre i've had by a long shot, and better than tourances exp and normal in general also by a long way.

tram line city

Just had a pair of 'Nexts' fitted to my 1150 (I know, it's not a Yamaha...). I asked the tyre fitter for the standard 36 / 42 pressures. After a short scrubbing in period, tyres followed every longitudinal line to be found on the road. In lane 1 of the M6, they really enjoyed following the LGV channels.

I have reduced the front pressure to 33psi and it's much better, though not as stable as the Conti TAs that I had last time. In a nut shell: very pressure sensitive.

See how you go on.
