SA Test Ride

Stonking engine in that bike but I just cannot make myself like the look of the thing

But hey we are all different and it is a good bike so enjoy it

The std bags don't get a great press mate?
Spots too - I went fro Clearwater Darlas - dimmable and mega quality.
My brother got the HSC but I'm no bothered.
Any pipe?

I'll let you know - I'm not that impressed with the boxes so I don't think the bags are going to make the difference.

The spots stay on all the time - I want to be seen.

No pipe - I thought the demo stock was a nice enough sound.

Not sure why and it's maybe a winter thing but bmw dealers don't seem to want to trade in their own bikes. There are a lot of stories about people being offered really low trade in values.

Had a blast on a brand-new SA demonstrator at AMS KTM 2 week's ago and was very impressed with both the motor (once the hooligan map was selected) and how nimble it felt ; okay this was v my current K1600GT !

...but who designed that cruise control and put in on the right handlebar ?

May bite the bullet after we have used the K1600 on a blast down to Jerez for the Moto GP but whilst I was impressed with the SA it wasn't a slam dunk.

Is it wise to be the current model when there testing the replacement ! (Unless there a huge discount to encourage a purchase)

Who uses cruise control in the UK???

I do.:D

It's handy when waving at other groups of bikers.:thumb

Reading about the updates on such a new model seems strange. It's as if they rushed it into production.:augie

I'll have a go on one in the summer. Now I'm getting used to a chain, the SA is more of a possibility.

Yes the CC is shite and on the wrong side :blast

I'm one happy bunny. It's a tall bike for me even on the low seat. Riding it is effortless fun.

The key in the various locks is not the best. The underseat toolkit has got more spanners than my garage.

It came from Craigs in Dewsbury which is worth a visit if you are into your offroad (not easy to find).

Bike developed a steering wobble, initially noticeable around 40mph when coming off the gas. Got a bit more perturbed when the wobble kicked in at a slightly higher speed :ague taking an a road bend

From some internet research the 40mph wobble is a known issue with various remedies including rims and tyres.

My dealer sorted my issue by tightening up bits n pieces around the headset

How are you finding Craigs ?
I tested a 990 adv 4 years ago, I probably would have bought one from them if they'd actually bothered to ring me back..several times after my calls went unanswered.
