Salisbury Plain Sunday 26th July - guide sought.

No problem, heaving 250kg's of dead iron out of deep water isn't exactl;y my idea of a good time either....

It is the deep mud that is more worrying.

Helped drag this young lad on a DT125 out of a deep mud filled pool.

He decided to go in without thinking.

It was up to his exhaust and very deep silt like mud.

It took four of us with a tow rope to drag the bike out.

Luckily the bike started and he went on his way.

That just leaves where and when to meet?

An easy RV point is Burbridges Bakery in Andover (155 Weyhill Road, Andover, SP10 3BH); it's a minute or so from the main A303 interchange & a petrol station so everyone can top up with fuel. Plus, there's a cracking byway that Mav & I started at a few mins ride away......but I'll be happy just to hooly around with all.

Can there also be a fuel stop planned with the lunch stop, as my KTM only has a small fuel tank :D

I'm sure it's purely coincidental that chocolate Danish can be purchased at said rendezvous point :augie

That sounds good to me, it works whether I come down the A34 or off the M3.

Wheels roll c/w pastries at 9:30, is this okay with everyone?

OK with me.....I may even stay over on the Saturday night so I can avoid leaving @ 06.00 on Sunday morning..... :tears

Make sure your Go Pro's & cameras are charged :D

FYI.....Burbridges bakery isn't open on a sunday......but there is a McDonalds near the interchange roundabout where one can purchase a double sausage & egg mcmuffin, hash brown & cappoo :D

Just out of interest.......does anyone fancy camping on the Sat night? I can make enquiries with the Bell Inn @ Weyhill (where the Hog Raost will be on the 4th July)......if the camping is a goer, could be a cheeky opportunity to have a few hours on the Sat afternoon on the plains....double the fun!!!!!

This is sounding like a great weekend!!! If you lot can put up with another 1150 GSA on Tourances i'd be up for a bit of fun on the plains. Not sure about camping on Sat though, could be up for meeting on Sunday:thumb2

Camping wouldn't be an option for me but if you wanted to share a twin room bounce that could be good as I'm in Banbury on Saturday so was going to get up early and ride from either reading or Oxford.

Good idea.....I'm OK with that :thumb2

There's a Premier Inn near the interchange, next to McD's for brekkie :D

With yourself that could put us at 7, so it comes down to the outcome of Bounce asking is mate at the hog roast.

I'll be seeing Stevie @ the Hog Raost so will see if I can pre-book a parking space @ his manor, and he might be back from Iceland by then so he may well like to go & play :D

It then might be better to split into a 4 and 3 with a gap in between meeting up for brews and lunch?

Though with around a month to go there is usually some attrition, perhaps see what happens on the day and what the actual number is?

7 in a group is no drama on the plains....plenty of space to see one another & follow :D

And lots of opportunities for piccies/video too......I'll pray for some nice weather as well ;)

I've been shafted by work so won't be able to make this anymore :blast

Sorry chaps :(
