I have just recently bought a 1150gs Adventurer, The engine is painted black from the factory but unfortunatly has not been looked after very well even though it is a 2004 bike and has semi white spots on the fins below the engine which appear to be salt spots which were not washed off, Can anybody let me know if there is any easy way to remove these marks without having to T-Cut the bottom half of the engine

Thanks tony

Spray the engine with a hosepipe, with the engine still wet spray Scottoil's SPF356 ( I think that what its called) water based protectorant all over the engine and it should come up looking good. At least my black engine does.

Repeat this everytime you wash it and you should keep the corrosion at bay and the engine looking nice and shiny.

Good luck,

Ian
