Samsung Netbook Problem

Hi All
Bought a Samsung Netbook yesterday Model N102. Windows 7 starter
Set it up ok,wifi etc, emails and installed Mapsource.
Seemed very unresponsive etc.
Windows updates came up, 12 of them, so clicked to install.
Reading on screen
Please do not power off etc Installing 1 of 1update.
I have little blue circle running and 2 dots stepping across screen (hope that makes sense?)
3 HOURS latter still as above Nothing seems to have happened!!!
Any ideas or advice please.
Or do I box it up and back to PC World?

Good Morning
Left the above still updating in the early hours.
Went back to it now and its still updating .

Cant see anything has changed.
Had to remove battery to shut it down.
