Sandy Bloy motorcycles a well known Bike Shop in Perth has moved to new premises and he can now service and look after your BMW (and Harley ) as well as Kwaks and Yams (as he did in his previous premises).

His hourly rates will be much more easy on the pocket than normal BMW dealerships and he has a really good name in bike servicing.

Well worth a consideration if you're anywhere near Perth.

I live in Perth and remember using him when he was in Bridge of Earn 30 years ago. Will probably give him a try as soon as the warranty is out. Nice premises and easy to find. Hang about until you see a fire engine without the blue lights, follow it back to the fire station and the showroom is just over the road.

I didn't think the warranty/Dealership thing was an issue these days?

As long as genuine parts are used it's ok to use a non dealer but then again if computer updates are needed they won't have the facilities for that.

Warranty issue's I would take to the dealer. Big fancy showrooms and coffee machines are what BMW riders expect hence the large hourly rate to pay for the premises.

As Johnny says, so long as OEM parts are used and bikes are serviced to the manufacturer's specification, any warranty claims shouldn't be an issue.

However, there is a potential difficulty should your bike fail just outside warranty and you go to your local friendly BMW dealer looking for a goodwill claim. If the bike doesn't have a main dealer service history then I suspect that the response from Bracknell would be less than favourable.

Shouldn't be an issue but a favourable response from Bracknell is like

I was in at Sandy Bloy's new Perth premises last week (the road between the Lidl and Aldi supermarkets) and spoke to one of the team there.

Seems they've had little interest in GS servicing which seems odd to me, given the amount of folk who complain about BM franachise costs and post in the Scotland Section asking about independent servicing

I got a rough price for GS servicing when I was in:

"Aboot £200 odd pound for the big service and aboot £100 odd pounds for the wee wan..."

Doesn't really apply to me cos I have my own bike fettler who takes care of my bike but I'd suggest that they're not bad rates compaired to what the likes of Clarks and MC will charge you.
