Hi Folks, Heading down to valencia in october on my 1150gsa. Getting ferry to Santander. Anybody body got any good routes and or accommodation tips to make my trip fun. Will be two up with my good lady and luggage so nothing to crazy. Would like to avoid autopista's and peaje's. Cheers Guys.

I did this route the other way round, I went Valencia, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Soria, Burgos, Santander. No motorways etc

Cuenca is fun with the famous hanging houses, plenty of hotels there, Soria too. Just wing it and turn up. We were in the middle of summer and never found a hotel full. Cheap too. Good luck .

The Alto Tajo area, just north-east of Cuenca is stunning - nature reserve, ravines. sense of remoteness, rugged mountain twisties. A welcome change from the plains around Albacete My route was south to north, N420- Tragacete - Molina de Aragon (N211).

Tragacete is an unremarkable mountain town but gets a mention because of the special Hotel El Gamo www.hotelelgamotragacete.com/en/presentacion
Great welcome when I arrived cold and tired and almost desperate(so I may be biased) for a one night stopover. Wholesome rustic cooking, good value, comfortable (2star is an underestimate). Garage parking - offered before I asked.

Wapping let you off lightly there...usually its a 25 line diatribe, and bloody rightfully too!
