Leave the wife at home, and do it yourself, I`m sure she would be happier away from you for a week :D

N623 to BURGOS if you don`t do this road you might as well stay at home, with the wife,

Hi Foolmaker, My wife and I are planning to take the ferry to Santander and ride down to Portugal this summer. Taking about four days to get there, chill out for three or four days then another four days to ride back (different route) How was your trip, have you got any advice, any tips and how was you crossing? I don't like boats and I've heard it can get a bit rough in the Bay of Biscay.

Hi all thanks to the attentions of a Toyota RAV the gs is now a little bit bent,so i am sorting out the insurance etc i forgot how much a 20mph off hurts both wallet and body luckily had been over 20 years since my last off.
The trip is still on but will now be my wife on her GS 800 and i will be taking old trusty my VFR 800 VTECH.
Wont be the same routes as i had planned i am thinking about stopping for a night or possibly 2 in Valencia does any one have advice for a good central hotel etc then down to Gibraltar is it as grim as people say ?.

The bay of Biscay can be a rough old crossing i have had 1 bad ferry crossing sick was everywhere the boat looked like the scene from a disaster movie then again its also been like a mill pond.
You are in the hands of mother nature there don't let it put you off the reward is Spain and your bike together

rough crossing

bon voyage,
try out acupressure writbands 'sea-bands' and ginger,
never tried something like Ginger Wine though ;^))
