Hi guys has anyone fitted the sargent low seat to their adventure after having the original bwm low seat on, and if you have, what difference in:

a) leg reach did you find and
b) comfort did it make

am asking this as i am just comfortable with the height with the original low seat on and wondered if there was much of a difference with the sargent low seat. I have or should I say my arse has just about had enough of this original crap and i am looking to replace it.

any opinions would be welcome guys.

Not any help with your enquiry really, more adding to the information required….

…I’ve been considering getting a Sargent seat for a long while. I have one on my Pan European and it is excellent.

But the option of ‘low’ or ‘standard’ had always left me confused to which to go for on the GS?

I ride my GSA on the lowest setting, on a standard seat, and find it fine….but my Sargent seat on the Pan is much broader than the original and increases the seat height by increasing the width your legs are splayed out at the top…if that makes sense?

This isn’t a problem on the Pan…but begs the question would the standard seat still be fine on the GS, or would it do the same, and requires me to get the ‘low’ option?

A call to the UK importers some time ago was pretty uninformative…along the lines of ‘order it, and send it back for an exchange if it does’…not exactly what I was after. :blast

Any one out there with one able to tell me if they’ve experienced the same thing. :thumb2

I now have three seats for my 1150gsa - standard (too high), BMW low and Sargent low. The Sargent seat is really well made and looks great. You sit slightly further back in the saddle c/w OE low seat; seat height is about the same - i.e. still paddling bike around on balls of feet...

I have to say that having done two quick trips to Europe last summer, I really can't say tat it is much more comfortable than the OE low seat (for me, at any rate). To the extent that I'm thinking of selling it and buying an airhawk. I still find that 90 mins is about the maximum I can do without having to stop.

It's a great looking seat but ??worth the extra money.

Hope this helps
Chris

Hi, I can't give info regarding Sargent Low seat :blast but have the standard height Sargent on my 1200 GSA and find height and width more or less the same. Had the Sargent on there now for 6 months and a big improvement over my old one. :thumb2

Thanks for the help guys

I have the Corbin seat with heating on my 1200GSA and in my opinion it is by far the best.
I tried all sorts before paying the extra bucks for the Corbin.... you know what they say, you get what you pay for! and that is very true as far as GS seats are concerned. Just ridden 14,000 miles around south america on mine and it was very comfortable all the way. The original seat is diaboilical.!

Hi Twodogs,
I had a low seat on my gsa but it was still slightly too tall, in the end after much research i whent to a local vehicle upholsterer who made me a bespoke seat, which can be seen on the 800/1100/1150 forum page 1, 10 down.
sorry don't know how to put in a link.
I am very pleasd with the look and comfort of the seat and at £172 was much less expensive than a Sargent or Corbin.

Steve

I have commented on this several times ..

Use search function at the top of the screen :thumb2

ACTUALLY CAN A MOD CONSOLIDATE ALL SARGENT SEAT THREADS?? :nenau

The 'standard' sargent seat is one inch lower in order to allow for the fact it is wider thus making it the same height.

(look on the Nippy Normans description)

Cheers Tom
