I was just at the point of ordering a pair of Sargent seats for my bike.

A comment on another thread has said that the pillion seat is not that good.

Any comments from anyone who has both would be most appreciated before I splash the cash. In fairness I have only heard one bad comment about the rear seat, just assumed that as the front one had such a good reputation so would the rear

If you have the cash to burn then buy one.

Not worth it really.

my mrs and my son both prefer the original GSA seat to the sargent pad, they both say you can't move around because the shape of the seat pushs the pillion to the rear of the bike. Maybe not a problem without a topbox but both the above prefer the security of the box to lean against normally, but the sargent seems to force them against it which neither of them like.

oh... forgot to mention that the riders seat is 100% better over long days than the standard one.

Those who have sat pillion on my Sargent rear have all be complimentary. My wife defo likes it better than the stocker although she does say that the front 'hump' spreads her legs a little further than she'd like, but the overall comfort for long distance is much better.

I bought the rear for looks mainly TBH. You can buy a cover to match the Sargent front for about £50 if you wish.

SWIBMO said it was an instant improvement. That's good enough for me. I guess it's a personal thing.

I opted for the rear seat cover and I'm happy with the final result. But, unless you have a long nose staple gun which can reach way down into the recess where the staples are located, you need a professional fit.

Mrs OM not too keen on the new Sarg pillion seat, but I quite like it because it keeps her sitting back towards the topbox and off my back. Anything that keeps her off my back is good.

Now you mention that, I realise that's also a difference for me too. I always felt like I was being 'pushed forward' when I had a pillion, but no longer. :D
