Just fitted a set of Sargent seats to my new 1200GSA and they have much improved the Original crappy seats!, my question is do new seats need to bed in? and if so how long ?what mileage

My one took a bit time to 'bed in'. Kind of cut the blood supply off at the top of my legs when I first bought it. I reckon it did that for about the first 2k. Absolutely fine now though.

Was that due to the back part being particulary hard or was it the whole seat in general

Mine seemed to take about 1k miles before it was really comfortable. Now, I can do 300+ miles day after day easily.

Hello Graham, mine took about 1000 miles, now its like having an angel sat on the back using her hands to cup your arse !!

i would agree 1000 ish but really depends on time in the saddle, more time spent the quicker they break in.
