sargent seat treatment???

picked me up a rider and pillion sargent comfort seats for me GSA, what a difrence compared to the bmw slab, anyway there only 12 months or so old and bang on mint, but i was just wondering whether anyone treats theres with any sort of leather treatment wax etc., not so much the top surfaces but more so the leather sides etc.

Leather? You must have completely different seats to mine because mine are vinyl or faux leather as they call it now, read as fake.

Just went out for a sniff of mine.Doesn't smell like leather or vinyl.More like old blokes arse.

Lower seat

Hi guys
I've just purchased a GSA, but I need to get a lower seat. Can you recommend a manufacturer or it it better to get an upholster?

Dont go mad having it lowered too far. I can only get my balls of feet down or more solidly with right foot only. The extra height takes some getting used to but its a trade-off between legs comfort while riding and reach to the floor when stopped.

I tried a very low Kahedo seat and turned back after 1/2 mile. Its was bottom friendly and nice to get both feet down flat, but the riding position was horrible.

In the end its a tall bike so persevere and only lower the seat enough to get what control you need when stopped. When you adapt to the bike you probably wont need it as low as you might expect.

I'm still on the look out for a standard height seat which is about 20mm lower than the adventures seat. I wont need it any lower than that.

Give dave a ring at Diggers, based in Newport, Gwent - really top notch bloke and excellent handywork. Just had my GSA seat recovered and refoamed, better than new.

To add another recommendation for Tony Archer,he's a top bloke,he's just made me a "one off " design seat in leather for my Triumph T160,outstanding workmanship and very reasonably priced.He also fitted a gel pad to a GS1200 for me a few months back,even lent me a seat so I could go for a bimble while he did it !.
