I've been finding the standard seat to be a bit of a plank, so while on holiday in Florida I've nipped up to Jacksonville to Sargent and grabbed one of these, with factory heat.

Get back Sunday from the U.S. And am riding up to Inverness for work on Sunday night so will report back on if it's any good :)

Was it a lot cheaper in America?
What's the heat switch look like please?

It's a fair amount cheaper, it's the BMW factory heat plug as my LE has heated seats . If you don't have it as standard they have a Sargent option for it. I paid $489 for it with the DTX covering. It was £315 on my credit card.

I posted the other day I was after a Sargent , just the riders , but can't find a UK based importer.....every one is selling in pairs ffs

Im really interested in this! been wanting to give a sergeant a try due to finding the standard seat really bad after an hour!

Sargent ?

I found a used one on Ebay for my 1200GS.
It's loads better than the standard seat.
The small ridge at the back seems to offer some support to the lower back.
You won't regret this purchase.

Done about 800 miles on it now since getting back from the US on Sunday.

First impressions;

It looks slightly odd on the bike, I use the seat in the high position and the seat looks like it's sloping slightly to the rear.

Comfort wise, it's brilliant, you can't see it in the pictures but there is a slight build up in the foam that better suits your coccyx, and it just seems to support you better than the stock plank.

The heating with the factory connector is an upgrade on the stock seat cost, and even though I did not need it, I tried it on the run down from Inverness and it was hot, you could sense the changes in the 5 range adjustment and the heat was even over your bum :)

My only caveat, and I felt this way about Sargent on the GS is that it is sculpted like a spoon, so it holds you in position, so yesterday out and hustling along a little, it's a bit more effort to move around and hang off.

So I'm not 100% convinced (because of the spoon effect), but comfort wise it's an 11/10 and the heat output is great :)
