I will be going out for a ride on the lanes around Dorking and Guildford. I do these lanes on a F800GS and it's ok, even more if it still dry tomorrow, but all the disclaimers apply! (expect to drop the bike once or twice, be prepared for a flat as well).

I plan on leaving from Rykas on Boxhill at around 9:30 and be back at around 3 or 4 PM. Stopping at Newlands corner for lunch.

Anyone wants to join me? I stick to the TRF rules when riding and also want to keep the number of riders to 6 max.

I know it's a bit last minute but I can't stay at home with this weather!

Let me know on 07914783653 if you are coming.. or just turn up tomorrow

Cheers!

I've got till lunch time if I don't get too steamed with try to pop over.

Pat I didn't see at Rykas, I waited for about 15 minutes but then I went on my own as I knew the later I went the more cyclist, horses and hikers I would see.
It was a good ride, the weather was great and the lanes were still quite wet so there was lots of puddles and mud which made quite fun.
As I was on my own I took the opportunity to stop and take a few pics and make some videos of a couple of deep puddle crossings and a 1 inch jump! (it always seems higher on the bike!) see below:

I was there and I recognise most of those locations in the photo, but I didn't see you, only a couple of Suzuki 4x4's, several cycles and two equestrian riders.

Were you on a G450X followed by an Africa twin? I came across them when I was doing my last lane on my way back to Rykas.

I was on the G450X, but not sure if there was an Africa twin following me. If there was, the rider was doing well to keep up! I did the whole of the "Wombat Hunt" route (about 60 miles) without stopping, in a little over 1 Hour.

Lanes

Sorry to have not turned up but got caught by SWMBO :blast
Maybe another time.
Looks like you had fun.
Sometimes its nice to be on ones own:thumb2
Al the best,
Pat.

No worries Pat, will go out together some time. I will post here whenever I am out, there are two rides advertised on the Surrey TRF group for this weekend coming so I will probably be doing one of them.

Blue Sweeper, I am surprised you didn't see me! I even moved to one side and stopped to let you pass! It may have been someone else on a G450X though, I think it was exactly the same pleace of the first picture posted, I was coming back so it was going the other way. I did about 60 miles too, but I stopped quite often to take pictures and I came across LOTs of horses, I caught up a few so I had to follow them from far behind for entire lanes, which wasn't too bad because it gave me more excuses to stop and take pictures (you can see a group of 4 that had just gone in toebreak in one of the pictures).

Cheers

Come to think of it, I seem to remember passing an 800GS on the way to Polesden Lacey, which is on the track in your photo.......:thumb2
