Just a warning of another winter camp:D

I'm thinking of heading off to snowdonia on Sat 8th of March, camping the night and then heading back. I'm not looking at making any great plans - I just want to test out my new mat:)

Anyone recommend a good site open and with top scenery?

Take the A5 out of Chapel curig towards Llyn ogwen there's two campsites on left hand side before you get to the lake we stopped at first one.

Stayed there last year with Malc great scenery :thumb2

Toilets and shower plus the farmhouse sells milks eggs ect...

Yes I agree, 2 miles out of Capel Curig and it gets wild.
First went camping on that site when I was about 10yrs old:)

The site where this year`s Dragon Rally was held was a fab one.

I`d happily go to that site any time of year.

Take the Capel Curig to Bedgelert road, pass the lake, keep going and it`s only a couple of miles before Bedgelert...on the left.

Like Pipster, I've stayed here many times

It's just a field, but you get up, trot up the north face of Tryfan, leap across Adam and Eve and then back down for breakfast.

Well, the field bit is true....;)

Oh yes:thumb2up the north ridge of Tryfan, jump Adam and Eve, down to the bwlch and up Brisley Ridge and the Cantelever stone across the Castle of Winds and the Glyders. Down through devil's Kitchen to Llyn Idwal then cut back to the camp site:clap

Thanks Tarka, how far was the nearest pub to this one and can you remember what it was called at all?

B*gger, I'm in France that weekend or would have been tempted to come and test my new matching tent.

I've been asked if I want to go to Simmer Dim this year, but don't think I can afford the holiday and/or ferry fares. Do you fancy trying to get a run together for as far north in Scotland as possible for the longest day weekend?

Something like:
20th June - camping north of Edinburgh somewhere
21st June - ride oop north and camp
22nd June - pootle back down to Edinburgh
23rd June - thrash home.

I'll accept that as a reason rather than an excuse as you made the last one:D

Whats the Simmer Dim - excuse my lack of knowledge:blast

I am tempted by the Easter run to Belgium?

I hope to fit something in between June and July but cannot make firm plans just yet. The idea sounds good though:thumb

I have a couple of things going off between now and August so I'm in the position of not being able to fix dates too far ahead -

Can`t remember the name mate..it was a decent size and had a stream through part of it with a vehicle bridge crossing it.

It was within walking distance of Beddgelert according to Kenny.

Might be worth asking him via a PM :thumb2

What easter run to belgium ?? that sounds interesting :bounce1:bounce1

Check out the national events section and let us know? I'd like to commit to this myself but it might be a week before I can.

Perhaps that could be a North West run out:D

Fine... go with your Northern mates then....
:D:D

I've now got the go ahead from swmbo, checked the shuttle last night, £79.00 return, I'm giving it a lot of thought :thumb
