Question for you Mr. Moderator, why don't you answer his question? Pretty obvious it's a genuine mistake made by someone new to the site. One thing to offer advice and point them in the right direction, out of order in my opinion to approach it the way you have.

Yep, totally agree, but maybe a more subtle and friendly way of directing them would be preferable.

What surprices me is they let a newbe do the test and that they do all testing i an huge city area. I get the impression that 90% of all bikers in UK ride mostly in huge city areas and very rarely on curvy countryside roads.

From the test I make the conclusion the UK bikers have no interest whatsoever for continental countryside touring, gravel road scrambling, Alpine-road knee scraping and the other stuff we in Scandinavia use our bikes for. The test indicates that the only thing of interest to a UK biker is to reach a given address as quick as possible.

I can't find any other reason why the Ride magazine entirely omits everything about route planning on PC - the amazingly powerful tool to get much more fun out of biking.

Pity. Organize a group, come up here, and I'll show you the meaning of life - everyhing from south Swedish tarmac to norwegian mountain gravel.

You might understand why I cancelled my subscription. One of their classiscs with GPS. Cabbie in a car v person on bike with GPS, in a town. No prizes for guessing who won.

Ride magazine's GPS report in PDF format. Broadband needed as it 34mb (seven pages) (But, very readable) It will probably take around 4mins to download.

Apologies if my assumption was wrong. I have not used the Quest 2 and was referencing info on other GPS related forums.

Zooming screen delays were an issue with Nav II I used when the junctions were close (400-600ft or less) together. Switching off autozoom solved that problem.

Hi Pondboy,
no offence personally taken. Never use auto zoom, don`t like it, prefer to zoom in when I want to, not when the unit wants to. So I`m afraid that wasn`t the problem either.

Unless Quest 1's suddenly become available for £80 again, it looks like I'm going to have to save up for a 2720. My poor old eyes would seriously appreciate the quality of the 2720 screen.

got a used 2610 300 quid from ebay a lockable mount from toura tech £80 and toured europe for 5,000 miles never let me down , simply unbelievable mate,sat in hotel room at night and plotted next days route etc ,simple to use loads o features ,would deffo buy another without a doubt.....
